The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood

Image
Olive is a third-year PhD candidate. She doesn't believe that much in romance, but doesn't want to stand in the way of the friend's happiness. So she comes up with a fake relationship, so her friend will think that she moved on and go out with the guy she likes. The guy she has a fake relationship with is the young professor nobody likes because he can be very tough on everyone.  Every time they spend together, it feels like there is tension between them and the fake starts to feel all too real. It it isn't until the conference from hell, that it all goes wrong, and right at the same time. :) It's steamy, the characters have this intense will they won't the tension, that keeps me flipping pages, and it's all set in a highly competitive academy setting. It's so good! Opposite attract, workplace romance, that will keep you glued to the pages from start till the end.  rating❤❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ cover❤❤❤❤ ❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

Always the Bridesmaid by Laura Carter

Image
Charlie is a comedian and Sarah is a widower. they meet at the wedding when friends try to set them up.  But they don't hit it off right away. They find themselves spending a lot more time together, they they wanted, and soon sparks start to fly. It's a cute story, but I had trouble with the writing style, it wasn't my cup of tea.  rating❤❤❤ cover❤❤❤❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

I love the storyline! It has all of the elements of a great book! Maggie runs a bookshop in a place with strict rules about what she can or can't sell. But rules are made to be broken, and what is better than a secret book club? But tan she discovers a secret.  It's the kind of book you can't put down. And the romance is so good! Welcome to the Cornish Country Hospital by Jo Bartlett

Image
Danni hopes to have a fresh start when she moves. She needs to get over a guy she loves because he is engaged to her best friend. That didn't last long when they decided to come along and work with her in the same hospital. She needs to figure out what is more important to her, friendship or the growing attraction. I like the storyline and the backdrop of the hospital made it all that more exciting. But for some reason, I just couldn't get into the story. Maybe it wasn't a good fit for me. rating❤❤❤ cover❤❤❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

Snow Days With You by Leonie Mack

Image
Luna is driving in a snowy wonderland, with a car that wasn't made for mountain driving, to discover who left the generous inheritance, when she runs out of flue close to her destination, she is saved by a knight in shining armour.  I was hooked right from the start and couldn't put it down! It's cute and romantic and pulls at all of your feelings.  It's the kind of story that touches your heart and transports you into a winter wonderland at the same time, the romance is quite something too. :) Highly recommend it! rating❤❤❤ ❤ cover❤❤❤❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

Ruined by Sarah Vaughn

Image
Ruined is a Regency-era graphic novel. It follows Catherine and Andrew. Catherine has turned away every suitor, but this year after a scandal, her father made arrangements to marry her off to Andrew Davaner. He desperately needs the money and she needs a husband to shut off the rumours.  It was just supposed to be a marriage of convenience, but as they got to know each other, the sparks flew between them.  It's a slow-burn romance, but a good one. I like the story very much, but didn't like the artwork all that much. rating ❤ ❤ ❤ cover  ❤ ❤ ❤ art  ❤ ❤ ❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

Never Ever Getting Back Together by Phoebe MacLeod

Image
Jess had a crush a huge crush on Jamie. When they finally got together at the party one night, she was over the moon. Until he broke her heart the next day. She swore off romance, cut off friends and basically deleted that part of her life. Now 10 years later, she and her friend run a successful catering business. When she works at a wedding she runs into Jamie at the wedding she worked. She successfully avoids him, until her car brakes down a country lane. The sparks fly again. But Jess has a hard time trusting him. I had trouble getting into the story, I felt it could do with a bit more depth and character development. rating❤❤❤ cover❤❤❤❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

Dean Chapman has a life plan. A part of that plan is to get married. 6 months ago he met Elle and it  was a match made in heaven, or so it seemed. She wasn't interested in love either and was happy with their modern marriage of convenience arrangement. Until it came to the wedding day. Chaos ensues and she is sure that she won't see either of them again. The Faking Game by Portia MacIntosh

Cara and Millsy have been a couple for the last three years. But when he moved overseas for six weeks to work on his new movie, they broke up. Problem? They haven't told anyone and with holidays coming up, they decide to keep it a secret and pretend all is well. Then he comes back with a dialect coach who seems to be glued at his sides and he keeps on insisting that she moves on. So Cara downloads the dating app and gets on one horrible date after another. It's hard to get over someone if you are pretending to be in love most of the time. This started out well, but by the last third, I was just confused by who I was supposed to be rooting for. I didn't feel a connection to any of the characters rating ❤ ❤ ❤ cover  ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

Match Me If You Can by Sandy Barker

Image
Such a cute story, it even has a big romantic gesture... :)  Poppy loves romance and all about it. She is a psychologist and works in an elite matchmaking agency. She spends her day finding the perfect person for everyone. But her latest case could be just the toughest.  Tristan has to marry before his 35th birthday if he wants to receive the huge inheritance his grandfather set up for him. The only problem is, firstly there is very little time to get to know anyone, secondly, he would be happy to stay a bachelor forever and third he is not the most likable person. :) Poppy tries very hard to find him a suitable match, but there seems to be one problem after another. The biggest of them is not to fall for him herself. :) Adorable story! Highly recommend it to rom-com fans. :) rating ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ cover  ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

You Can Have My Back, Vol. 1 by Minami Kotsuna

Image
I was very excited to read the book, the premise sounds great and it has all of the elements I love: political intrigue, fantasy set-up, and reincarnation love story. But the execution itself wasn't that good. Instead story opening the door to a new world, it sets up the future stories, while not standing on its own. I felt like was reading a sequence of events, but without an actual plot. It was quite confusing, especially at the start and had trouble staying focused. The age gap was a bit much too. rating ❤ ❤ ❤ cover  ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

When We Were Friends by Samantha Tonge

Image
Four girls were childhood friends. They had a club of sorts, a secret society, where they used their unique gifts to solve problems for whoever needed help. On the night of the prom, it all went horribly wrong and their friendship ended abruptly and for good.  Now 19 years later, Morgan has a teenage son, who keeps asking about his father. Morgan decides to get her friends back and ask them for help searching for her son's father. As adults, they meet again, but the pain of betrayal still feels fresh. They manage to put their differences aside to help Morgan, but it all blows up epically.  Again. This was so good! I found myself totally immersed in the story and couldn't stop reading. They are all full of faults, but that doesn't stop you from rooting for them. Highly recommend it! rating ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ cover  ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

Ghosted by Sarah Ready

Image
Jilian works for an online magazine as a relationship/dating expert. But she can't even talk to a guy face to face. Her advices are not based on real life and she is about to lose her job. She has just moved to a tiny, a little bit creepy apartment in NYC, but there is someone already living there. Daniel doesn't remember much from before. He is good-looking, always shirtless, and also a ghost. She is also the only guy Jilian can talk to. He starts to help her with her love life in hopes that he could move on, but with that much time spent together and all of the attention he gives her, she starts to fall for him. I like Jilian's personality, her geekiness and that she always wants to follow her heart. Daniel is the complete opposite of her, he has a very realistic view of life, especially of dating. They are complete opposites, but that is what makes them work together so well. I love the first half of the book. It's such an interesting premise, but I kind of lost int

Best Frenemies by Max Monroe

Image
Mack and Katy are both teachers at the same school in NY. Mack teaches music and his class is often very loud, while Katy tries to teach math. But they don't get along. Mack is very easygoing and loved by everyone. Katy has a huge problem with that and is very uptight. On long awaited getaways they get stuck together in the same place. Being that close together means they get closer, especially after Katy gets injured and he takes care of her. It gets hot and steamy fast, but Katy has no idea what she wants. She foes between wanting him and totally ignoring him all of the time. I like the enemies-to-lovers narrative and the forced proximity of just one holiday condo. It was a funny and entertaining story to listen to. Unfortunately, I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. I didn't like the narration and had trouble staying focused on the story, especially with the male parts. The story also felt very immature, and it would be nice if the characters had more depth or

A Curse of Blood and Wolves by Melissa McTernan

Image
A Curse of Blood and Wolves is a paranormal retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. Ruby works at a bar and walks home through the woods every night. She feels eyes on her almost every time and once she confronts the stranger following her. But she doesn't fear when she sees him. Rafe is a werewolf, living alone, away from his pack. He keeps following Ruby trying to keep her safe, cause he feels drawn to her. I love the premise of the story, it's a fun take on the fairytale, and I like the paranormal aspect. The writing is very easy to get into and read, the story really comes alive before your eyes and the characters feel real. But where I had trouble was the storyline, I just couldn't get into it., I kept putting it down. rating ❤ ❤ ❤ cover  ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

Girl in Translation by Jean Kwok

Image
Kim and her mom arrived in NY in search of a better life, with the help of her mom's older sister. She got them an unlivable apartment, without heating in cold NY winters, with broken windows and no furniture. She made them both work at a sweatshop for very, very little money and then she took most of it. Kim had to go to school in a new country, barely knowing the language and not knowing the culture. She stuck out and the school that she once loved, because very hard. It was hard to make friends when you could never invite anyone back home, or spend all of your afternoons and evenings working. But she didn't give up, she continued to try and learn and soon got a spot in a prestigious private school. It didn't get much easier for her, especially when you top the struggle with teenage angst and problems, but she never gave up. I loved the first half of the book. It's a very beautiful, realistically written story of the struggle of growing up not knowing the culture, no

Heartstopper Vol. 2 by Alice Oseman

Image
Charlie and Nick continue to fall deeper and deeper in love in the second book of the Heartstopper series. The book is cuteness overload.  Charlie has known that he is gay for a long time, but for Nick, all of this is very new. He is not ready to tell anyone just yet, so they keep their relationship a secret. At least for a while.  But they are not as subtle as they seem. :) The story is adorable and relatable and it just makes you want to read more. The writing is good and the artwork is seriously adorable. :) rating❤❤❤ ❤ ❤ cover ❤❤❤ ❤ ❤ artwork ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie
