I love to read romance books set in the Christmas time. It's the most magical time of the year, after all. :) But this one didn't hit the spot. It's not that something is wrong with the book, I just couldn't get into it. A case of it's not you, it's me, book edition. :) It has a lot going for it, friends to lovers, small-town romance, dual POV, sweet romance, and Christmas-time setting, of course. Bess and Glo have been friends for a long time. They both a very stressful jobs and on top of that their personal lives are not peach either. The romance slowly developed, as their friendship deepened. It's part of the series, but you can read it as a stand-alone, too. Lovely story, just not for me. rating ❤❤❤ cover ❤❤❤❤❤ Goodreads Amazon happy reading, anie

Perfect winter romance! Charlie has been working long hours as a makeup artist for a TV show and is excited to spend the next few months in New York with her boyfriend. They have been together forever and he has recently relocated to work in New York for a few years. Only, when she lands there is no sign of him. He is unreachable on the phone and she spends all night at an airport waiting for him to show up. She is afraid to tell her friends and family because she doesn't want to ruin their holidays. She gets a place and tries to understand what happened. She goes on a little trip to find him where he was supposed to spend his holidays and meets Pete on the train. They hit it off right away. She spends her days doing touristy things with Pete. But soon she gets a job offer and goes back, with a promise to see Pete when he goes to visit London in spring. It's not without bumps in the road until they find their happily ever after. A lovely, Christmasy, romance that makes you feel...

The Faking Game by Portia MacIntosh

Cara and Millsy have been a couple for the last three years. But when he moved overseas for six weeks to work on his new movie, they broke up. Problem? They haven't told anyone and with holidays coming up, they decide to keep it a secret and pretend all is well. Then he comes back with a dialect coach who seems to be glued at his sides and he keeps on insisting that she moves on. So Cara downloads the dating app and gets on one horrible date after another. It's hard to get over someone if you are pretending to be in love most of the time. This started out well, but by the last third, I was just confused by who I was supposed to be rooting for. I didn't feel a connection to any of the characters rating ❤ ❤ ❤ cover  ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie
