The Wedding Crasher by Mia Sosa

Dean Chapman has a life plan. A part of that plan is to get married. 6 months ago he met Elle and it  was a match made in heaven, or so it seemed. She wasn't interested in love either and was happy with their modern marriage of convenience arrangement. Until it came to the wedding day. Solange is finishing her job in the DC and doesn't expect to get an offer to continue her work. She also doesn't want to get tied down by anyone. She is a part of the wedding party, she helps her cousins who are working in it and hears the bride talking to someone who isn't the groom about love and it convinces her that she needs to do something, so she stops the wedding. Chaos ensues and she is sure that she won't see either of them again. But then she gets an offer, to pretend to be Dean's girlfriend for a few weeks, so he can take out potential clients and get ahead in his law firm. The more fake relationship progresses, the more their real-life feeling arise. There is somethin

The Faking Game by Portia MacIntosh

Cara and Millsy have been a couple for the last three years. But when he moved overseas for six weeks to work on his new movie, they broke up. Problem? They haven't told anyone and with holidays coming up, they decide to keep it a secret and pretend all is well. Then he comes back with a dialect coach who seems to be glued at his sides and he keeps on insisting that she moves on. So Cara downloads the dating app and gets on one horrible date after another. It's hard to get over someone if you are pretending to be in love most of the time. This started out well, but by the last third, I was just confused by who I was supposed to be rooting for. I didn't feel a connection to any of the characters rating ❤ ❤ ❤ cover  ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

Match Me If You Can by Sandy Barker

Such a cute story, it even has a big romantic gesture... :)  Poppy loves romance and all about it. She is a psychologist and works in an elite matchmaking agency. She spends her day finding the perfect person for everyone. But her latest case could be just the toughest.  Tristan has to marry before his 35th birthday if he wants to receive the huge inheritance his grandfather set up for him. The only problem is, firstly there is very little time to get to know anyone, secondly, he would be happy to stay a bachelor forever and third he is not the most likable person. :) Poppy tries very hard to find him a suitable match, but there seems to be one problem after another. The biggest of them is not to fall for him herself. :) Adorable story! Highly recommend it to rom-com fans. :) rating ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ cover  ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

You Can Have My Back, Vol. 1 by Minami Kotsuna

I was very excited to read the book, the premise sounds great and it has all of the elements I love: political intrigue, fantasy set-up, and reincarnation love story. But the execution itself wasn't that good. Instead story opening the door to a new world, it sets up the future stories, while not standing on its own. I felt like was reading a sequence of events, but without an actual plot. It was quite confusing, especially at the start and had trouble staying focused. The age gap was a bit much too. rating ❤ ❤ ❤ cover  ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

Confessions of a Dangerous Girl by Dan Birk

One of my favourites this year! I loved reading it! Emma has spent most of her life in a boarding school, that is supposed to be for child psychopaths, but it's actually an undercover CIA training facility. They are supposed to help kids like Emma to become better people, but in reality, they are training them to be assassins. Emma's latest mission takes her back home when she has to go undercover at a local high school and pose as a normal student. She needs to get into Model UN, so she will have access to her target. But something like that is much harder for Emma than anticipated. She never made real friends and her first attempt failed miserably. To get into the club, she convinces the best student, to help her become a better person, while she will help her get a guy she likes. Slowly but surely, Emma changes. She learns how to make actual friends and starts to do good, but the mission should always come first. The story is told from Emma's POV, so you really get into

The Summer Hikaru Died, Vol. 1 by Mokumokuren, Ajani Oloye (translator)

It is on the weird side, but that makes it interesting. The artwork is awesome too! Yoshiki's best friend disappeared into the mountains six months ago. Someone (or something) that looked like him, behaved like him and had the same memories come back. But it isn't the same Hikaru. That doesn't stop Yoshiki from being pulled towards him. It took a bit of time for me to get oriented to what was happening. The start is all over the place and I couldn't figure out who was who and what was going on. But once I got sucked in, I couldn't stop reading. And those last few chapters were so intense, I can't wait to read what happens next. :) rating ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ cover  ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

When We Were Friends by Samantha Tonge

Four girls were childhood friends. They had a club of sorts, a secret society, where they used their unique gifts to solve problems for whoever needed help. On the night of the prom, it all went horribly wrong and their friendship ended abruptly and for good.  Now 19 years later, Morgan has a teenage son, who keeps asking about his father. Morgan decides to get her friends back and ask them for help searching for her son's father. As adults, they meet again, but the pain of betrayal still feels fresh. They manage to put their differences aside to help Morgan, but it all blows up epically.  Again. This was so good! I found myself totally immersed in the story and couldn't stop reading. They are all full of faults, but that doesn't stop you from rooting for them. Highly recommend it! rating ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ cover  ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie
