Mac came to the beach town to start college. She is older than most freshmen because she took a gap year. It took a lot of convincing to get her parents on board, but part of the deal was to go to the college here. She used that year to build up her business.

Now she is in the same school as her long-time boyfriend, for the first time in a long time. And she is getting bored. Mackenzie always does what she is supposed to. She dates the right guy and behaves the right way, but that isn't here. She is full of spark, that she constantly squashes down.

Cooper lost one of his jobs, because of her jerk boyfriend, so he and his friends make a plan. He will seduce her and get back at him that way. But in the process of getting her, he falls for her. She is so much more than just a rich princess.

There is an insane amount of sparks between them, but there are also a lot of secrets between the two of them that threaten to break them apart.

The story is so addicting it's hard to put down. But there are also free things that I didn't like, like cheating.

It has all the right elements that make up a great rock star romance, but this one fell flat for me. I like the chemistry between them and the setup, so the first third of the book, but the rest... didn't do much for me.  She is a biochemist, working for a company that is developing an experimental perfume. She has a stable-ish life but is not happy. Her brother on the other hand is running after his dream. She is with him one night, as he has a performance, and starts talking to a guy. He doesn't seem like much, but there is something very attractive about him.  They spend the night together. The next morning, when she talks to her girlfriend, she realizes who he is.  I had high hopes for the MCs, but I had trouble connecting with the FMC, she comes across as very judge-y and she looks down on others.
