Hate Mail by Donna Marchetti

Image
Naomi and Luca grew up on opposite sides of the country. In the 5th grade, they became pen pals for a school assignment and never stopped writing to each other, until 2 years ago, when the letters stopped. But the letters weren't sweet or heartfelt, they were filled with hate and mean words, and they always tried to outdo each other in their insults. Slowly, over time, underneath all those jabs, a friendship developed. Naomi works at the TV station as a weathergirl. And then she received a new letter at work, from Luca, but without his new address. She and her friend go on a whole adventure to find him, flying across the country, and finding more about his life along the way. At the same time, the cute neighbour asks her out and they start to date. There is this insane chemistry between them, but her heart is torn between two guys. It's so so good! I couldn't put it down. It's funny, sweet and heartfelt all at the same time... and there are many steamy scenes too! :) Hi

I couldn’t remember a moment like this when I wanted to bury my hands in a woman’s hair and discover the taste of her lips. In past dating experiences, I had all the romance planned out in my head well ahead of time. Right now, I was running on spontaneity, which wasn’t one of my strengths when it came to relationships of the past. Maybe it was time I tried something different. She pulled cash out of her mini-purse and held it out. "That's too much." "At least go halvsies." She shook the bills. "Keep it. Call it a thank you for making my first date in a long time memorable." She nibbled on her lip, an endearing quirk. "Okay, thanks. Walk me to my car. Then we’ll say goodbye." We strolled up the hill away from the restaurant in silence,

Overgeared (vol. 1) by Park Saenal

Image
The story is set in the future, where everyone is playing an immersive virtual game. The MC is not the best player, but he is very persistent. He doesn't have the best luck and tends to make the wrong decisions. I liked the art and the idea behind the story but found it very hard to follow. I kept getting lost and losing focus on the story. rating❤❤❤ cover❤❤❤❤ artwork  ❤ ❤ ❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

When Oceans Rise by Robin Alvarez

Image
When Oceans Rise is a Little Mermaid retelling, with Filipino elements and alternate universes. It's such a great story, with great writing and interesting characters. It's a great and impactful story full of fantastical elements, but the ones that had the biggest impact on me were the realistic ones. The bad relationship that Malaya finds herself in, the intricacies of gaslighting, the subtleties of gaslighting, and abuse were portrayed in a very, very realistic way. We all feel like we couldn't find ourselves in that situation, it could never happen to me. And when you find yourself in that kind of situation, there is so much shame that you too, feel speechless, like Malaya did. Highly recommend it! rating❤❤❤ ❤ cover❤❤❤❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

She almost gave up on ever finding someone, but her friends are not letting it go. When they go on a trip  they download a new dating app and insert the opposite of all the things she would like in a guy. The dating app leads her to meet a mysterious stranger. He is younger, but the sparks between them are undeniable. They ran into each other again, but this time at her new job. I liked the storyline at first, but there were some things that I just couldn't get past and I didn't like the male MC. rating❤❤ cover❤❤❤❤ Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie
