Daughter of the Deep by Rick Riordan

Ana Dakkar is a freshman at a five-year high school,
Harding-Pencroft Academy. It's a prestigious school, for future marines, marine biologists, and naval explorers in the world. Since her parents died the school has become her home. The only family she has got is her brother, who is a senior.

When her class goes on a weekend trial on the sea, the whole part of the land, that house the school complex explodes. The rival school that they have been in conflict with for the last 150 years has attacked and her class is the only thing that can protect the legacy left.

A few students with Ana in charge embark on a dangerous mission, all while on the run from the rival school.

A retelling of 20 000 Leagues under the Sea, the story is full of adventure and nail-biting moments. Past and future merge in the story of survival, alt-tech, friendship and betrayal.

I was on the edge of my seat for most of the book and couldn't stop reading, it's so so good!

Highly recommend it!
