Reading Diary [week #4]

Image
Monday [23.1.] Is it just me, or has this month been a few years long already? :) December just flew by, but these weeks have been dragging by. It's not that all is bad, it's just been too long. :) I did a lot of reading... and that is always a good thing. :) I started The Queen of Nothing today. It's surprisingly short, but I kind of like that. It's the perfect ending, so more romantic than I hoped for; my favourite was the tail. :) The story is not dragged out, but not without a bazillion twists and turns as always. :) It's been a long time since I've read The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King . Maybe it's time for a re-read  (after I clear my current TBR, of course). I've been also meaning to read The Apollo series again, but I still haven't read the final book. If the year is as long as this month has been, I'll have time for all that. :) Tuesday [24.1] I've been looking forward to reading Blindsided. It's supposed to be a psychologi

Reading Goals for the 2023

Image
2022, it's been nice. :) I finished my reading goal and then some. :)I initially just wanted to read 100 books a year. My main focus was on reading the books I actually want to read and like and getting rid of the dreadful forced feeling that always puts me in a slump. For most of the year, I just followed my mood in picking up books, which is perfect considering I realized I'm a total mood reader and ended up reading 212 books. I read A LOT of romance and even a few thrillers (the genre I never picked up before) and most importantly I learned to love books again. It was a great year - with regard to books. Not so bad in other aspects too. It's been a year of moving on.  As the new year starts, it's the perfect time to reflect, but also to move on and let go, of the past, and expectations. I'm not the biggest fan of resolutions, they tend to stress me out. I'm more of a fan of random quotes I find on Pinterest. Here are a few that I'm loving for the new year

Books of December

Image
I had a goal of reading all of my ARCs and Netgalley books till the middle of December. My birthday is the days after Christmas and I always get books (best present ever 😁) I wanted to clear my TBR beforehand. I didn't go totally as planned, but I manage to read a lot. I finished 15 books and surprisingly most of the were good. I wanted to pick just a few favourites, but it was so hard to narrow it down. :)  Here are 7 that stood out the most: Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco ya, fantasy, magic, witches, demons Two sisters, witches like many others live on the island. When one ends up dead, the other seeks vengeance, even using forbidden magic. She summons a demon, one of the princes of Hell, whom she was warned against to help her. They are on the same side, but with wicked, you can never be sure. We Are Not Angels by Nadine Little  dystopian, angels, romance, paranormal, adult It's not my favourite because of how good it is, but because it has strong Angelfall vibes
