Image
published August 26, 2022 number of pages 127 genre science, history rating ❤❤❤ ❤ ❤ cover ❤❤❤ ❤ ❤ The History of the Computer is a lovely book that takes you through time, as computers came to be. It's beautifully illustrated and short but to the point. The writing is clear and engaging. I especially like the key player's section, where you could read a bit about important people who impacted computer history. series Lighter Ones #4 published July 27th 2021 number of pages 270 genre romance, best friends to lovers, contemporary, adult rating ❤❤ ❤ ❤ cover ❤❤❤ I rarely read a book, when I like both MCs so so much and root for them through the book, from start to finish.  Sami and Marshal have been best friends since they were little kids.  The first part of the story jumps through significant life events, prom night, college, and parties. One thing is consistent, they are always there for each other. Sami found her forever and is getting married, but when it all goes horribly wrong, she has the person to lean on. Quickly their friendship turns into something more. The more they explore it, the more right it feels.  From friends to friends with benefits, their chemistry is off the charts. I had so much fun reading it, it's swoony, funny, and so good! Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

Santa Maybe by Mary Jayne Baker

Image
published December 1, 2022 number of pages 352 genre romance, Christmas, contemporary, adult rating ❤❤ ❤ cover ❤❤❤ ❤ Elodie is a toy store owner. The store is not doing so well most of the time, but at Christmas time it's crazy busy. Mostly because her grandfather is everyone's favourite Santa. After a stroke, he has to retire and she is forced to find his replacement. She has no choice but to hire Nick Winter. He doesn't look right for the part, but he is all she good. She can't fail and nothing gets her more determined than Callum, her nemesis and owner of the department store who is her biggest competition. I was so excited to read it, but I struggle with the book for the last half. I wish there was more to the plot, more depth,  and the romance was just not it. Letter and Lyrics by Leah Parker

Image
published July 28, 2022 number of pages 328 genre romance, second chance romance, contemporary, adult rating ❤❤ cover ❤❤ Hollis and Lily were high school sweethearts but broke up ten years ago. After rough few years, Hollis got into a band and is now world famous. Lily stayed back, went to college and after a bad relationship, she is focused on work. When he comes back home they ran into each other again and sparks fly. But giving a second chance it's hard, especially when everything is on the line. The story is a dual point of view, with lots of feelings from both sides and with a lot of flashbacks. While I like the general storyline, I had such a hard time getting into it. ShegoraTH by Dima Tsyptsiura

published June 22, 2022 number of pages 120 genre short stories rating ❤❤❤ ShegoraTH is a collection of intertwining short stories, all leading up to the final message of the book. It's a short one with an interesting format, I haven't read anything like it before. It reads more like a collection of flash stories and thoughts. While the story isn't the best fit for me, I appreciate its uniqueness. Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie received from the author, all thoughts and opinions are my own

Image
series Brother's Best Friend #5 published February 24th 2022 number of pages 73 genre romance, contemporary, adult rating ❤❤ cover ❤❤ A long time ago, when they were still in college, he was her first one. She fell hard, but it ended soon and badly. Now they run into each other again. She is a wedding planner for his cousin's destination wedding in Colorado and he is there mostly to keep his cousin from doing stupid stuff.  When the bride and groom are late to their rehearsal in church, they step in, but someone didn't get the memo that it's not real. They get snowed in and all of the old feelings resurface. I had trouble connecting to the characters and the story. I wish there was more complexity to the story or any kind of depth. Calla is the new Queen, but no one wants to come to see her at the palace. Maybe it has something to do with Sammy, her sceptre, who likes to bounce around like a ball and slowly drains her of her power. And then there is the Gargoyle King, who offered to help her wield a sceptre and well as cast a protective spell on her kingdom. But Calla doesn't trust him. Then her mother, the Ley Queen sends her on a mission with Dare, which requires a lot of together time. :) It's a chance to find an answer to wielding Samy and finding her power. If only she makes it till then. Calla is the second book in the Pixieland Diaries series, written as diary entries. It's a fast-paced story, that you kind of have to read in one sitting - it's impossible to put down.  I love the adventure, but my favourit

Chasing Romeo by Sarah Ready

Image
series Soul Mates in Romeo #1 published May 25th 2021 by Swift & lewis Publishing LLC number of pages 220 genre romance, contemporary, adult rating ❤❤ cover ❤❤❤❤ Chloe is romantic to the point of total insanity. She believes in soul mates and is truly desperate for her HEA. When she hears that her soul mate is her first kiss and that she has to find him in one week, she jumps right in. Nick is her ex, and also a private investigator who is hired to help her track down all of the Matt Smith's that maybe are her first kiss. He is the voice of reason, but also very much in love with her.  I really wanted to love the book, but it went from cute to funny to wtf am I read with each Matt they visited. Also, her need to find and marry a soulmate, right now, is weird, especially when you hear about all of the previous relationships that she had, where the guys were really horrible, but she didn't see that. It makes you question her sanity. Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

Image
series Vampires of the Daemonverse #1 published August 25th 2022 number of pages 308 genre romance, paranormal, adult, vampires rating ❤❤ ❤ cover ❤❤ I had a hard time liking the book. It's an exciting storyline - vampires living among us, ancient prophesies and mates, all the ingredients of a fabulous book, but it just fell flat in the end.  Maybe it was because of the backstory and set-up, that I had a hard time getting through, or a bit of confusing time jumps, or slow burn romance, but it was definitely not a good fit for me.  Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie thanks to the author for the ARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own
