When she overhears two coworkers talking about the D appointment, she is all for it and asks them to set her up. What starts just as a stress release, turns deeper with each "visit". :)  It's such a fun book to read, it's quick, extra spicy and absolutely hilarious. I love the writing, once I started the book, I couldn+t put it down.  Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie thanks to Hidden Gems Books for the ARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own

Career Day by Suzanne Rothman

Image
published April 20, 2022 number of pages 47 genre children's rating ❤❤ ❤ ❤ cover ❤❤❤❤   Amazon It's a career day at school. Kids are dressed in occupations they like the most.  It's a lovely story, not only are the illustrations beautiful, but it all presents a whole bunch of different careers to kids in a very engaging way. I like the variety and the little prompts in between, for starting a conversation about different jobs. happy reading, anie thanks to Hidden Gems Books for the book, all thoughts and opinions are my own

The Duke's Kiss by Monica La Porta

Image
published March 14th 2022 series Lords and Ladies of London #3.5 number of pages 154 genre romance, historical, adult rating ❤❤❤ cover ❤ They fell in love when they were 17, but their romance was short, because of a misunderstanding. Now many years later, his twin plays a match makes and invited her to stay for a little while.  The present story intermixes with the flashbacks. For some reason, I had a hard time getting into the story. There few things that felt a bit of about the time period that the story was set in. Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

[BookList] favorite friends to lovers books

Image
Summer is always a time when I read a lot of romance books. From cheesy to spicy and all in between. :) There are a few tropes I like more than others and one of my all-time favourites is friends to lovers, maybe because is very similar to my story. :) Here are some of the books with the trope, that I devoured. The Perfect Man by Lynn Dare Ellie is a romance writer. She lives above the bookstore and her best friend has a taco stand in it. She is stuck on a new story, about a perfect man. She gets intense dreams about different men that could be the perfect ones, but in real life, she is a bit of a loner. Then the owner's nephew comes to work in the story and she thinks he could be the perfect one. Only he is not. Good thing she has her best friend, that is also her brother's best friend, before he moved, who checks up on her. Otherwise, she would never leave and keeps her feed with tacos. And when he kisses her, it's all part of the rouse, but it feels so real. And it's

Frankie's Wish: A Dance-It-Out Movement

Image
published August 3rd genre children's rating ❤❤ ❤ ❤ cover  ❤ ❤ ❤ Frankie lives on a beautiful island with her auntie. It's Frankie's birthday and she would like to find a magic feather and make a wish to be a famous dancer. On the adventure, she follows the clues and solves puzzles with a little help from new friends she comes across.  It's a beautiful story with very pretty illustrations. You can read as is, or follow the dancer and dance the story out. It's a good idea, especially for the kids who have trouble staying still while reading and it makes you feel like you are a part of the story. :) Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie received from Hidden Gems, all thoughts and opinions are my own

Both of You by Adele Parks

Image
published January 6th 2022 genre thriller, adult rating ❤❤❤ ❤ cover ❤❤❤ Leigh is happily married to a wonderful husband and stepmom to his two kids. When she last went to work, she didn't come home. The family is distraught about it, especially because she and her husband had a huge fight before she went missing. Kai is married to a wealthy businessman Daan. She disappears the same week. There is no trace after her.  It's up to detective Clements to solve the mystery and finds their women.  I loved the book till about half of it. I kind of guessed what will happen next and it was way less fun to read it then. Nonetheless, an awesome story. Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

The BEK Curse by Jonathan Pongratz

Image
published May 9th 2022 by Solstice Publishing number of pages 33 genre horror, short story rating ❤❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ cover ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ Maria and Richard Wilcox have retired to a small farm. The last few months have been amazing, but also very hard.  One night Maria thinks she saw something in the window but refused to talk about it. The next thing they know, there is a persistent knocking on the door. Only there is nothing there. The next time, there are children standing on the front porch, but there don't look right. So good! It's spooky, scary and way too short. :) Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie received the ARC from the author, all thoughts and opinions are my own

Oopsie Daisy by Iris Morland

Image
series The Flower Shop Sisters #3 published November 5th 2019 by Blue Violet Press LLC number of pages 206 genre romance, contemporary, adult rating ❤❤❤ cover ❤❤❤❤ In the summer she went to a family wedding in Ireland and had one nightstand with an awesome guy. She was sure she will never see him again. Then she starts the grad school of her dreams and her advisor is non-other than the guy she slept with. That is complicated enough, but he left her with a present. :) Figuring out how to raise a baby together, while also hiding the fact that they are pregnant and know each other, it's not easy. I like the storyline, but not the way it was done. Lochlann went from seductive to bookworm, to alpha male to domineering, I felt like I was getting whiplash. I had no idea what his character really is. There were also some stuff that made the story hard to believe. It felt disjointed and rushed. Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie

favorite thrillers of the summer

Image
Thrillers used to be my favourite genre, I devoured them when I was younger, but in the last few years, I can't remember reading much of that genre. This summer I've read one and then another and kind of fell back in love with the genre. It's true that the books kind follow the format, but the ones that I love the most, are the kind that keeps you on the edge of your seat not knowing about the twist till the last few chapters. Not sure what is about 'em, but they are very addicting.  Here are some of the three I've read this summer, that I absolutely fell in love with. The Murder List by Jackie Kabler I've read it as a part of the read-along. I've enjoyed doing those very much. Reading a book is a very solitary thing, but knowing that there are so many people reading the same book at the same time, it's kind of cool. :) And it's always awesome to try new things, to get out of my comfort zone and discover something that would otherwise slip past me. Small Town Stillettos by Sagan Morrow

genre romance, contemporary, adult rating ❤❤❤ ❤ ❤ Margaret is a city girl through and through. When her aunt dies and she has to go to the small town she ran from, to handle her estate she is out of her comfort zone. When she visits her aunt's estate, it brings back all of the memories and it gets hard to keep grief at bay.  And then there is Logan. He took care of her aunt all those years, caring for her and her house, making sure she was comfortable and had all that she needed. And he also gets half of the inheritance. BUT, they only get it if they marry, otherwise, it all goes to a horrible cousin. So there is really no choice to make. But the plot thickens when she also likes Michael, her other childhood best friend.  It's a cute, fun romance story. It's the kind that makes you giggle and swoon though. And it's best to read while also looking at the lake or sea. :) Goodreads  happy reading, anie received from the author, all thoughts and opinions are my own

Saving the Secret Prince by Kristin Canary

Image
published December 13th 2021 by Dreaming of You Press series California Dreamin' #3 number of pages 192 genre romance, contemporary, adult rating ❤❤❤❤ cover ❤❤❤ Goodreads || Amazon Lauren just got out of the concert of a lifetime, when she sees a guy walking in front of a car. She jumps into action and pushed him out of the way. Little did she know she just saved the prince. She has to take it easy for a while and he offers to pay her for the lost wages (well her friend kind of forces him into it:) ). She decides to be his personal trainer. She never did that before which becomes clear pretty soon, so she shows him around instead. He is more of a bookworm and on forced hiatus. They spend a lot of time together, sparks fly and before long they fall for each other. It's easy when it's just them, but life in the spotlight, the kind he leads, is the reason she cut ties with her family. It's a lovely fast-paced story, that you can read in one sitting. :) happy reading, anie

It's been a month. I don't think I was ever as busy, as happy, as excited or read so many good books, as in the month of July. I've finished 27 books. There is nothing quite like being in romance books, to amp up the reading. I'm not sure if it's because of the fast pace or addictiveness, but there is definitely a normal reading pace & then there is a romance book reading pace. :) Here are the books I've read this month: 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 Calla by Christina Bauer Pixieland Diaries by Christina Bauer To Get to the Other Side by Kelly Ohlert The BEK Curse by Jonathan Pongratz Unlikely Match by laura Bradbury Small Town Stilettos by Sagan Morrow The Perfect Man by Lynn dare 💜 💜 💜 💜 My Always One by Aleatha Romig Her Darkest Secret by Jessica R.
