Christmas in Silverwood by Dorothy Dreyer

Image
Holly is a well-known artist. But lately, she is feeling uninspired and unmotivated. Her recent work is getting her nowhere. After breaking up, she goes to the family Cabin to spend the holidays alone. They used to spend every holiday there, as a family, but she hasn't gone back for many years. It has a lot of memories, but it's also a good place to get your thought together. On the way, she meets Nick. It seems that he does everything in the little town. They start on the wrong foot, but the chemistry between them is undeniable. It's a sweet Christmas Story, set in an adorable little town. There are Christmas miracles, dogs everywhere, just the cutest romance and friendships. When I was reading the book, I felt like I was watching a Christmas movie. It's heartwarming and just fun to read. :) rating 💜💜💜 💜 cover 💙 💙 💙 💙 received from Xpresso Book Tours follow the tour here number of pages 228 published November 9th, 2021 by Rosewind Books genre contemporary, roma

Last few months I've been drowning under TBR piles. There were books everywhere. Some I had to read sooner, some I wanted to read right away, but in reality, I didn't read all that much. I don't well with overwhelm. The piles get stuck in my head and I have a hard time focusing on what I'm reading at the time, but instead thinking about all that remains. And most importantly I was done whining about it. :) Something had to be done. So about a month ago, I went on a mission. Went through all the books, everywhere, wrote down all the numbers, had a moment of panic, and then when to reading. My intimate goal was to get numbers down to manageable, so I can take my time with new books and read with joy, not in rush. Maybe is it because I had a goal in mind, maybe because I have a lot of contemporary romances on my TBR list, but I managed to get the numbers quite manageable. My Kindle is still full and I'm still a little bit behind, but the joy is back. :) and now I actua

Wild For Me by Tam Derudder Jackson

I was looking forward to reading Dakota's story, he is my favorite in the band, so far. :) He had many one-night stands, more than he can count, but that particular one was different. Anabelle is still on his mind two years later and when he sees her at the wedding, he plans to not let go this time. For Annabelle that night was pure fantasy. She still has a crush on him and when she sees him at the wedding, he makes her want to repeat that night. Only she is too drunk. :)  Later she scores a management internship with the band. Eager to prove herself she dives into work. She doesn't want the relationship to mess with her internship, not to mention the manager of the band doesn't particularly like her, so she plans to stay away. Dakota has a very different plan. :) Being so close all the time, the sparks fly. :) The attraction is off the charts but there seem to be too many things against them. It's such a romantic & steamy story! I loved it, from the first to the la

Perla Sambrano is a casting director and she knows who would be a perfect male lead for the new film. The only problem, he is her ex-boyfriend.  She is determined to get past herself and visits him to present the offer, and ends up in his arm, with his whole family to see. He asks her to pretend that they are back together. With real feelings still there, it's not long until fake become reality.  Gael believes that the men of his family hurt women. He was convinced that he would only hurt Perla if he stayed with her, but seeing her brings all those feelings back.  When they are stranded together for the holidays, it doesn't take much to fall back to where they left off. However, someone is still meddling in their lives.  A feel-good book, perfect to read on a snowy night in December. :) Victoria is a designer. She works at the bar in Chelsea and teaches design classes for young people. She has dreams of one day having her own boutique.  Down the street, they are building a new department store. Small store owners on the block are worried about losing business, not to mention the manager is very, very rude. Oliver Russell's family's new department story is behind the schedule. His job is to be there and sort it out. On top of that, his family is pushing him to settle down. With his father being sick, he can't tell them he is single, so he asks Victoria to pretend to be his girlfriend, to make his parents happy. But the more time they spend together, the more those fake feelings become a reality. It's just the sweetest story, I loved reading it! And now it's the perfect time for something heartwarming and cute. :) Highly recommend it! rating 💜💜💜 💜 💜 cover 💙 💙 💙 💙 💙 received

Madness by Paityn Parque

One night Ezra is murdered in her own bed. She wakes up not in the afterworld, but inside of a sick game.  Inside the game, players can be killers over and over again, the only way to really die is to commit suicide. But the game is ruthless and the players are very brutal.  It's like a mash between Hunger Games and video games. Players all have levers, that go up with time and kills, they have infinity lives and can unlock new skills, but the game is controlled and set up by someone and for a reason, only we don't know what that is yet. Ezra runs into a guy she calls Speedy on her first night. She lucks out, he takes her under her wing and trains her. But he has secrets of his own. Each player can have skills that get unlocked over time, Ezra's is particularly dangerous, but she soon learns to use it and use it well.  The ending was very unexpected and made me curries about what is to come next. :) I like the storyline very much, I got sucked in right aways. It's inten

In a beautiful enchanted forest live two friends, moon elf Eli and her friend Luna. One day the forest gets filled with sugar crystals and anyone who falls on them turns into rock candy. When Luna's baby bunny falls on one and turns into candy, Eli and Luna go on a quest to undo the curse and save the bunny. It's a beautiful story about friendship, teamwork, and adventure. I absolutely love it. And what makes the story even better, are the illustrations, which are just gorgeous. They bring the sorry and the characters to life. We Are 100 by Nathan Timmel

You know the book is good when you start to root for the bad guy. :)  Evan lost his wife. The prices for the medication that could save her, got jacked up by the pharmaceutical company, so much that they could no longer afford it and she pass on...  He is depressed and filled with the need for revenge. He blows up the board room, killing people responsible for the price rise and himself while making sure most innocent people are out of the building.  FBI agent Susan and newbie Michael are sent to investigate. What they soon discover is that Even is the first of many. A new website pops up, We Are 100, where after each crime is committed the is a video with explanation and confection. It's up to Susan and Michael to find whoever is behind it and stop more people from dying. The more they dive into the crime and people doing it, the more they discover, that they all had good reason for doing so. These are not senseless crimes, the people targeted are criminals who got away with it, w

The Daemon's Wish by Chris Wright

The story is set way into the future. Humans have worked together and saved the Earth, then they colonized Mars and Europa.  The world is and its colonies are safe for the most part, until a series of brutal murders. The police work with Noah, he is a profiler, to uncover the murderer.  There is no evidence left behind, no fingerprints, no surveillance. And for some reason, Noah seems to know more about what is going on. His life turns upside down. The migraines and epilepsy, he always had, get worse, with stress and lack of sleep, to the point he blacks out for a few hours and has no idea what is going on. I like the setting of the book, especially the sci-fi aspect and the mystery of the crime, which seems unsolvable. However, I wasn't the biggest fan of the supernatural aspect of the story. Noah is an interesting character, thought the story, we see his life, relationship, and struggle he had. It makes it easy to root and feel for him.  rating 💜💜💜 cover 💙💙 Goodreads || Amaz

Audrey by Sean-Paul Thomas

Joe just got out of prison and is trying to get his life back together. Because of what he did, he lost touch with his wife and kid. He takes full responsibility, but still yearns to get a bit of his old life back.  He lives with his friend and works as a builder, but that is not all that he is. He always loved movies and writing scripts. Now that he is out, he wants to write more and make something of himself. At a local film festival, he meets Audrey. Audrey wrote the script for the movie he went to see and had a small role in it. A one-night stand turns into the opportunity of a lifetime. Before she leaves his apartment she snoops around and finds his script. One thing leads to another, and before he knows it, he is on a way to Paris.  He has a chance of a different career, of a new start and I just love what he does with it. It's a different kind of story, the storytelling the plotline, it's very different, but I was pulled right in and couldn't put it down. The writing
