Poison in the Pills by August Raine

review In the Poison in the Pills, we follow Jack. He is part of a clinical trial to help find a cure for the new disease that seems to take over the world. The Itch is a horrible disease that wants people to scratch of their own skin, after being affected. Many are dead and suffering and scientist are looking for a cure. He had concerns from the start, but his pleas were ignored. And when he uncovers a secret, the race start. He has to use all his wits and some questioning methods to uncover the truth.  The story is intense, it's a thriller in every sense. :) The were so many twists and turns it's hard to predict what will happen next. And the events are extra scary & intense, because of the state of the world that we are now in. While I like the storyline, I found myself glancing over some parts.  rating 💜💜💜 💜 cover 💙💙💙 💙 received from author published July 31st, 2020 genre thriller Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie Follow @anie_1027 Anie

review OK, I have to be honest, Bianca was never my favorite, but I loved the duology, so I was eager to read more... :)  The story runs parallel with the original duology. There were some familiar scenes but told from a different perspective, different eyes, different emotions, as long as a whole lot of new stuff. :)  Seeing what went down from her side, gives the story a whole another dimension and understanding of her character.  It's a page-turner for sure. :) There are lots of action and intense scenes. Bianca is still not my favorite, but I feel like I understand her action a lot more and she is starting to grow on me. :) Highly recommend the entire series! rating 💜💜💜 💜 cover 💙💙💙 💙 received from author series powers #3 published February 12th, 2021 by Pangea Books genre dystopian Goodreads || Amazon happy reading, anie Follow @anie_1027 Anie

Fire And Cinder by Christina Bauer

review I've been looking forward to this book ever since I finished the last one. :) I'm no the one to stick to the series for a long time, but Fairy Tales of the Mgicorum is such a good & addicting one. :)  We follow basically two storylines. Elle is stuck in her apartment, all alone, and doesn't have a clue how to start saving Alec. Until she gives herself a kick in the but to start, but her magic does sometimes lead her to strange places. :)  Agatha just wants to leave Faery and anything to do with it behind and live a normal life. She looks forward to her daily coffee, not dates with Jacoby and rummages through the Cinder warehouse. :) But her destiny is catching up to her.  In the end, both storylines clash together in a spectacular end. :) I was enveloped in the story from start to finish. It's one of my favorite retellings and I love diving into a new adventure each time. The writing is addicting and the characters are awesome. I just wish the ending was a bi

review It's one of those books that you just have to read from the first to the last in one swoop. The writing is so addicting, I was pulled into the story right from the start, I felt like I was right there in the story, with Crow and Reva. The land, the character, they just jump from the pages... It's such a good, addicting series. :) Highly recommend it! After long time in the dark place, Reva is finally free. She meet her daughter, but the love for the husband is gone, instead all she thinks of is revenge. Reva is a very fierce characters, she knows what she wants and won't let anyone stand in her way, especially not Crow. She has no nice though about him to and blames him for what happened. Crow has other plans. After he finds out that she went after the Locasta, he decides to follow her and they reluctantly end up traveling together. There is a lot resentment left between Reva and Crow. Their story didn't end on a happy note and between then and now, they both be

review She was thought from a young age to keep her voice and her magic hidden because it could draw attention. When the scouts come to the village, to find beautiful and talented girls for the emperor, it's especially vital that she stayed hidden. And then she saves an animal in the remote part, sure no one can hear her, and by the worst of luck, one of them does.  She is soon found and forced to join, or her family will be hurt. When the girls arrive they have to prepare and train, to impress the emperor. The more they do, the better their status is.  She needs to stay low and hide, but there is the side of her, that can't stay low and can't stand still when people she cares about are in trouble. :) It's a very complex story, set in a very interesting fantasy world. The world-building is great, the pieces of the world, and who it works are revealed through the story, just enough to make you want more. :) And the storyline is well thought out, with many unexpected twis

review It seems like it took me ages to finish the story. I understand what everyone talked about in the review, the story is slow, but I didn't see it as a bad thing. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it! :) The story is set in a galaxy, where current flows through everything, planets and people alike. It powers everything, some observe it, some worship it. It gives people special gifts as they grow up, like superpowers, that are very unique to the individual and their life. On the planet  Thuvhe, Akos is a son of a farmer and an oracle. He has a sister and a brother. Oracles are very important, they see futures and fates. When a child is born with fate, every future with lead to the same outcome.  They are not the only ones living on the planet,  Shotet  used to be a nomadic nation, scavenging for discarded treasured, but now stationed on the same planet, the two nations are anything but friendly. I love the relationship between the two, how it was portraited, especially when we see t

The Perfectly Fine House by Stephen Kozeniewski and Wile E. Young

review Such a unique story!  Death doesn't mean the end. Ghosts are everywhere, an integral part of everyday life, they have jobs, apartments, raise grandkids, and so on. It's a normal thing that after you die, you just keep on sticking around. :) Donna runs a surrogacy agency with her absent ghost partner. If you fall in love with a ghost, you can go to her agency and hire a human, for the ghost to possess a human, so the couple can enjoy corporal parts of the relationships. :)  She is a workaholic, working literally all the time. When she is hospitalized with a panic attack, her long-dead twin insists she takes a break. Even though dying is no big deal when you know what comes next, the break might not be so bad.  He recommends a house, a little bit of the grid. It's a strange house, there are no ghosts there. In a world where ghosts are normal, that is a scary thought. It's getting weird, the ghost are acting funny coming close to the property and her brother can'
