Fighting for a Second Chance by Nikki Ash

review They got together for 30 hours, in Miami. They both agreed that it will be a one night stand. In the morning he leaves with just a goodbye note. And days later she finds out that she is pregnant, she has no contact info, but she tries as best as she can to contact him. When that doesn't work she raises her kid on her own.  It's all going well, until five years later when she runs into him. They end up in bed again and before she can tell him, he pushes her away.  They have a second chance, but it will take a lot for him to overcome all his insecurities.  I live fluffy contemporary books and while I liked the storyline, there were a few things that I dislike, like his indecisiveness and his father...  rating 💜💜💜 cover 💙💙 series Fighting #1 published October 27th, 2018 genre romance, contemporary number of pages 276 Amazon || Goodreads happy reading, anie Follow @anie_1027 Anie

review Willa takes care of her father, an alcoholic. This time he went too far. He owes a huge debt to Jameson, a guy she has a crush on, and she is supposed to work it off.  He is rough and broody, but there is a lot of chemistry between them and in the end, he is the one who saves her. It's light and fluffy and while I like the story, there were few elements that were like WTF. :) rating 💜💜💜 cover 💙💙 💙 💙 💙 series Some Call It Series published August 20th, 2018 by Hexatorial genre romance, contemporary number of pages 258 Amazon || Goodreads happy reading, anie Follow @anie_1027 Anie

Tunnel of Bones by Victoria Schwab

review I'm loving this series <3 Cass and Jacob are in Paris. Her parents are filming the show and tries no to get into too much trouble. :) Accidentally she wakes up a very strong ghost, a poltergeist. These kinds of ghosts are especially strong, they can cause all kinds of mayhem in the real world and the kind that she can't just send on. She has to rely on her skill and help her new friend to find a way to get rid of him before he makes any more damage.  In Tunnel of Bones, the stakes are higher, the ghosts are worse and the intensity is turned all the way up. I love reading it, I just devoured it in one sitting, it's one hell of a book and I can't wait to read more! :) rating 💜💜💜 💜 💜 cover 💙💙 💙 💙 💙 series Cassidy Blake #2 published September 3rd, 2019 by Scholastic Press genre middle grade, paranormal, ghost number of pages 287 Amazon || Goodreads happy reading, anie Follow @anie_1027 Anie

The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan

review The half-bloods have been preparing for the battle all year, but the odds are against them.  It has all been leading up to this, the final battle between Titans and Gods. Gods are busy fighting Typhon, Poseidon is defending his underwater palace and Hades refuses to join the battle. All that leaving Mount Olympus undefended, and it will up Percy and other campers to defend it, with help of hunters, nature spirits, and centaurs. It's an epic conclusion to the series, with the promise of more. :) I think this was my favorite in the series, it has a different tone, but the intensity and action are turned to max. I love the ending, it made it all right in a way. :) Highly recommend the whole series! :) rating 💜💜💜 💜 💜 cover 💙💙 💙 💙 💙 series Percy Jackson and the Olympians #5 published August 1st, 2010 by Puffin genre middle grade, mythology, urban fantasy number of pages 361 Amazon || Goodreads happy reading, anie Follow @anie_1027 Anie

Angelfall by Susan Ee

review No matter how many times I read it, it never gets old. It's one of those books that have a permanent place in my heart there is just something magical about Raffe and Penryn, and I love going back to that world. The world has ended a few weeks ago when angels descendent on Earth. But there are not the nice ones. The Earth was ruined, people hiding in old buildings, scavenging for food, and trying to stay alive. Gangs are forming all over the place, using angel parts as a currency makes living all that more challenging.  Penryn is down earth, no-nonsense kind of a girl. She has to be. Her mother suffers from a mental illness, and she can't count on her, her little sister is in a wheelchair and need her, so it's up to her to find a place and food for them all. And she is far from helpless, she can fight, thanks to all the classes mother signed her up after her sister "accident", but it's still a big burden on a 17-year-old. There are in the process of r

Secret Shadows by Alexa Whitewolf

review I very, very rarely read books that have some kind of greek mythology in, because honestly, if it's not Percy Jackson's world, I don't want to be in it. :)  I very, very much dislike the mixing of mythologies, it just hurts my head. There seem to be exceptions to my self-imposed rules - anything that Alexa Whitewolf writes. :)  In the Secret Shadows, we follow Hades, God with a secret ability, who spent the last few hundredth years drunk. He is drowning the thoughts and not just his, not noticing what is going around him. Then he gets attacked when on Earth by Fenrir and that sparks a whole lot of change in the godly world, starting with getting new immortal guards, and meeting Persephone. Much like him, she is kind of an outcast. She spends her time on Earth where she is not made fun of and actually appreciated. He is immediately captivated by her, but she takes some time to come round. Apparently, he is part of the reason she rather spends her time on Earth. :) I

2021 Reading Goals

2021 It's been a year. :) Even though it was incredibly intense and full of unpleasant stuff, it wasn't all bad. Being stuck at home, watching the world break, made it crystal clear where my priorities should lie, and how silly it is to worry about small stuff - you never know what tomorrow brings. :) The new way of living made me reexamine a lot of things I did, loved, and how I spend my time. Especially when it comes to reading. I simply didn't have time to read books I didn't want to and mental space to carry on with books that weren't for me. Books are supposed to be an escape from real life, somewhere you can turn where it all becomes too much. Not I should, but something I want to.  My niece made an advent calendar with books to read for December. I re-read books I forgot I loved and discover that spark, that feeling you get, when you go back to the world you loved, whether it's Hogwarts, or Shadowhunter, or on a satellite with Cress. :) And it made it pai

review One of those series I never finished, because I spoiled myself for the ending. After that, I didn't feel like reading on. But it's been a while and I wanted to finally read the series... :) So I started with the first one, it's still as good as I remember. :) I forgot how much I love the world of the book, especially the Shadowhunters. And Jace of course is my favorite. Moody and strong, but you just know there has to be something bubbling under the surface. :) One thing I still hate about the book is Simon. I don't get his role in the story and he is plain annoying, like all the time.  It's a fast-paced, page-turner of a book. OK, it's not perfect, but there is something about it, I couldn't put down. And that ending, I knew it was coming but was still shocked. :) rating 💜💜💜 💜 cover 💙💙 💙 series The Mortal Instruments #1 published March 27th, 2007 by Margaret K.
