Dead Meat: Day 4 by Nick Clausen

Image
It's day four of the outbreak and zombie apocalypse it's on its way. The government is trying its best to contain the spread, setting roadblocks, and urging people to stay inside, but it seems that it's all in vain. Few people still manage to slide through and that is all it takes. Day 4 is a bit different than previous books, it has a different tone and it's longer, but I think it's my favorite so far. The storyline is kicking up the intensity with each day, the stakes were never higher. The story is told from multiple points of view. It works amazing with the story. Multiple stories, each very intense, and somehow, somewhere they will come together. :)  I don't know if it has to do with the times we are living right now, or something else, but the story never fest more real, than day 4. The way people created to the outbreak: sheer panic, recklessness, violence, toilet paper grabbing, roadblocks, etc, it's not al that different than how it was/is during th

Claimed by Steele by Brenda Jackson

Gannon Steele is the youngest brother, the last to fall in love. He is the head of his trucking business and has agreed to an interview with Delphine. It doesn't just end there. For a PR stunt, they embark together on a road trip. Being in close quarters all the time pushed them together and they fall for each other. It's light and easy read, but I just couldn't get into it. It's one of those, it's not you, it's me. I think that the book wasn't a good fit for me.  rating 💜💜💜 cover 💙💙 received from NetGalley series Forged of Steele #13 genre romance published May 5th, 2020 by Harlequin Desire number of pages 224 Amazon || Goodreads happy reading, anie Follow @anie_1027

As Much As I Ever Could by Brandy Woods Snow

It's just one of those books that pull at your heartstrings, make you feel and love and cry right along with all the characters... CJ, her sister, and her mother had a horrible car accident. And she was a sole survivor. Living with guilt is eating her every day. With only her father and her left, they drifted apart. In summer, her father drops her off at her grandma's place, which she hasn't seen since she was little, and speeds off.  She feels very lost and just wants to spend the summer alone and aways from everyone. Enter grandma. She was probably my favorite character in the whole book. :)Eccentric just so much fun. :) She pushes her, and not so gently, to get back out again. She makes friends, gets a job, and even falls in love. The more time she and Jeff spend together, the more of his story comes out. They both had a hard life and help each other to see light again. It's such a beautiful story of what living with guilt and grief doest to you, but also about secon

Fanning the Flames by Alexa Whitewolf

I'm having the best luck with books lately! (hopefully, I haven't just jinxed😁) I was so surprised by how incredibly awesome it was! I mean, I had quite high expectations, because I loved the  Moonlight Rogues  series, but this one is on a whole another level. :) Declan (he is my favorite❤, but Tytus is not far after him either😁) and Tytus are brothers, last of their kind, Zmeu. They used to be inseparable, until they had a falling out and Declan changed, transforming into a very bad person until he was captured and imprisoned for many years. Now that Declan is captured by the immortals, again, Tytus is on his way home after many, many years, to recover and to find out what Declan is planning. But he is not going alone, Fiona insists that she wants to join him. She has been used and abused by a lot of different people. Now that she is finally free, she wants to do something good and then move to a deserted island, away from everyone. Their plans get a bit sidetracked, by the

genre paranormal, romance, ya published November 10th, by Filles Vertes Publishing Goodreads    Pre-order giveaway a Rafflecopter giveaway synopsis Lark Espinoza could get lost in her music—and she’s not so sure anyone in her family would even care to find her. Her trendy, party-loving twin sister and her mother-come-lately Beth, who’s suddenly sworn off men and onto homemaking, don’t understand her love of cassette tapes, her loathing of the pop scene, or her standoffish personality. For outcast Lark, nothing feels as much like a real home as working at Bubble’s Oddities store and trying to attract the attention of the cute guy who works at the Vinyl shop next door—the same one she traded lyrical notes within class.  Auden Ellis silences the incessant questions in his own head with a steady stream of beats. Despite the unconditional love of his aunt-turned-mother, he can’t quit thinking about the loss of his parents—or the possibility he might end up afflicted with his father’s issues

Storm's Herald by J. W. Golan

All the ingredients of a classic in making. :) Lynette is a simple peasant girl with big dreams. She spent most of her days with her teacher, slowly and painstaking learning a bit of magic. But that all changes the day her parents inform her that she is to many a butcher, many many years older than her. She is very much against that. And when her teacher dies, there is nothing left for her in the village. She takes the letter that her teacher should deliver to the Fae Kingdom and embark on a journey.  Along the way, she meets Baxter, and later Eirlon.  It's an epic journey, filled with danger and secrets and magic.  My favorite thing about the story was the world created. As I read the story, the world became alive. It has a very good magical system (love those :)), lots of magical creatures and interesting history of the world. I liked the way the world and how it became that way is slowly revealed through the storyline, so it doesn't take away from the flow of the story. It t

Echo Academy by Christina Bauer

I used read-only Sci-fi books, but after a few years, I just stopped. Not sure if I was picking wrong books, or maybe it was me, but the stories I read, very so ... dry, filled with infodump, and only a tiny bit of action, and it made me stop reading for a long time. Dimension Drift series was a perfect reminder on what sci-fi it suppose to be, mind-blowing science, intriguing storyline & a whole lot of awesomeness. Echo Academy is a fast-paced story, filled to the brim with action & unexpected twists and turn . The story starts with an expanded scene from Alien Minds, Meimi, and Throne standing up to Cole. They seem to be winning until Cole sends Meimi back to Earth and opens an exile void between the worlds. Their connection is severed and it doesn't look too good.  But Meimi is not one to bow down before a challenge. She figures out a way to reach back to Thorne. All she needs is a magnetic storm, a little bit of tech, help from her best friends, and some ECHO Academy st

Dearest Dorin: A Romantic Ghostly Tale by Candace Robinson

Image
I'm loving this series😍 After Clementine saved herself in Dearest Clementine , she wrote a letter to Dorin with a story of her own & this one is my favorite of the entire series... 💜💜💜 It's a story about a ghost hunter Cate. She gets a letter to banish ghosts out of the mansion. When she arrives she is greater by the handsome owner and gets to work right away. What she discovers is a lot more than she bargained for. The ending is heartbreaking and perfect at the same time. It's one of those stories, that is on my mind since I read it. I keep wondering how it all ended and if there was ever HEA for them. The writing is sooo good, I couldn't tear my eyes ways form it, the story is captivating, intense, and full of twist and turns. Also, the cover is so pretty😍 Highly recommend the entire series! rating 💜💜💜💜💜 cover 💙💙💙💙💙 received from Author series Letters #2 genre paranormal, romance, ghosts, short stories published August 13th, 2020 number of pages

Rose by Katlyn Duncan

Rose was almost drowned by something in the sea, something that called to her when she was young. Ever since then she likes to stay away from the ocean, even though she lives right next to it. :) Rose's home is an idyllic village by the seaside. Her mother is slowly losing her memories and had to be put in a home, for her safety. She has a sister, but they don't keep much contact. One day she sees girl jumping in the ocean. never coming up again. She just can't let it go. There is a new officer in town. And she would like to help with the investigation. Only for him, it isn't all that helpful. :) They but heads a lot.. and fall for each other. It's a very cute love story.  I like the paranormal aspect of it, it was very interesting, however, I'm not the biggest fan of the writing style, I had a hard time connecting to it. rating💜 💜💜💜 cover 💙💙💙💙💙 received from StoryOrigin series The Sister's Secrets #1 genre paranormal, romance, crimi published Octob

What are Friends for? by Sarah Sutton

Image
Just the sweetest, most swoon-worthy story 😍 Remi and Elijah have been best friends since forever. It was totally platonic, until one night at the party, where Remi when to the wrong room to play the blindfolded kissing game. Instead of her long time crush, it was her best friend. It was mindblowing and it changed everything for her. More feeling she developed, harder it was for her to act normally around him. It's just one of those stories, that you make you squeal with joy in the end (or is it just me? :)) and warm your heart. The romance is so sweet - it's one of my all-time favorite tropes - friendship to love. The characters are very well developed, especially Remi and Elijah, they both just jump from the pages. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves ya romance!!! rating💜 💜💜💜💜 cover 💙💙💙 received from Silver Dagger Book Tours follow the tour here genre ya, romance published January 14th by 2020 by Golden Crown Publishing number of pages 308 Goodreads    Ama

It Sounded Better in My Head by Nina Kenwood

Image
It's the of the High Scholl & what should be a time to celebrate and plan for the future soon turns in an unexpected way.  Put of the blue, parent of announcing separation. It's a huge shock for Natalie, they seem to be a perfect couple and it all looked well. What is the bigger blow, it's that it happened 10 months ago and she had no idea until now. She feels lost and heartbroken. Spending a lot of time with her two best friends Zach and Lucy (who also date), is the way to go. And then Zach's brother starts to joins them quite often. He invited her to a party, and the more time they spend together, the more feeling she delopes for him. However, the road to HEA is very bumpy. It's the coming of age story, all about difficulties ad challenges of growing up, finding your way in the chaos.  I have mixed feelings about the lead character. She battles horrible acne all her teens and it left a huge mark

Dearest Clementine: Dark and Romantic Monstrous Tales

Image
I was blown away by this book. It's unique, and an awsome-a new favorite for sure. .) Clementine was taken from Dorin, and while he searches for her, he writes her letters and companies them with stories for her to read. There are a total of 8 stories in the book, each very, very different, but have one thing in common: love .  And one message. No matter what kind of monster you are, no matter what you have done so far, everyone deserves to love.  It's just so romantic... :) What surprised me the most, was that even though the stories were short, they didn't feel ... short. Like a complete story on its own. I like them all so much. It seems possible to pick a favorite. The two that kept playing in my mind were Our Hearth Whiter To and Darkness Can Be Good. Our Hearths Whiter To She has to eat a new heart every month if she wants to survive. But with this month's target, she feels in love instead.  Darkness Can Be Good Frankie watched all
