Dirty Love & Filthy Lies by C. Shell

Image
She thought that they have it all, living together, engaged, set to marry after college graduation. It was all perfect. Or so it seems until she came home and saw Connor doing a random girl in their bed. For her it was over the second she saw him and she moved back to her dorm room. But for Connor it-s far from it. Marriage is a requirement for his future plans and he will do whatever it takes to make her come back. What he didn't plan on, was Ashton. When her roommate dragged her out she was taken by the bartender. Not used to attention or flirting she went away even without giving him her name. Luck has it, she ran into him very soon. They are made for each other, but Connor isn't done with her yet. I never knew I could have a character so much, as I hated Connor, until his dad. That family is seriously messed up. I loved and hated the ending. It's was the best, but the suspense is already killing me, I just need to know how she will set up her revenge. :) rati

Salt + Stilettos by Janet Walden-West

Her best friend is opening a new restaurant. In order to bring in the best chef, he made his partner. Only problem-his public image. Here is where she comes in. Brett is will have to change his public image and take someone who is awkward and shy in public, and turn him into a star. :) She is though on the outside, put together, great with people, it's her job. :) He's a bit awkward with other people, doesn't say the right things a lot, but amazing with people he works with. More time they spend together, close they become. I loved the dynamic between them, you could almost hear the tension between them, & attraction, they seem to go together. :) it's one of those stories that just pull you in and don't let go till the end. The only complaint, the writing style wasn't a great fit for me. It's very descriptive, which is great but can get in the flow a bit. rating 💚💚💚💚 cover💛💛💛💛 received from the Author series South Be

One Wild Weekend With Connor by Lexi Hart

One day on a beach, she runs into Connor, who just swam ashore and is badly hurt. She reluctantly takes him to her house and when he passes out on the front porch, dragged him inside and patches him up. There is a huge storm coming and they are stuck in the house for the weekend. The sparks are flying, making her feel things she hasn’t felt in years and making him drop his guard. After the weekend the kind of drift apart until one night at the bar, when he saves her from a horrible situation… and get arrested for it. Connor is such a complex character. At first glance, he looks like a smooth-talking con, but as his story and his past revealed itself during the story, you see that there is so much more to him, he is honorable, loyal and has a serious case of bad luck. By the end o

Reading Diary #6

Image
Friday I finally got around to read Pixiland Diaries . I was waiting for it since I’ve read the sampler in January. I have trouble focusing, and I didn’t want to read it until I knew I could enjoy it…  And I did. Very, very much . I read it in one sitting and loved every page. It’s so much better to read a full story. It’s such a fun book, with some epic pranks, lots of laughs, and dreamy winter prince… :) (that's like my kryptonite, if there is a fae winter prince in a story, I'll love it. :))  SOOO GOOOD. :) Saturday It was a lazy-ish kind of morning and I was in a mood for something different. So I started reading One Wild Weekend With Connor & finish it in one sitting. It’s a steamy love story, and it was just what I needed to read to get over sluggish week. With all that is going on all around me, it’s been hard to pick up a book to read. It’s kind of hard to focus when my mind is scattered in a million different directions. And light, fluffy books ar

Books of March

March was a very funky month. With all the craziness that happened, I had a bit harder time reading, than usual.  I kept on getting distracted by news and worry. So I read here and there and that resulted in a lot fewer books read. My goes for April is to get back into reading regularly... & ignore the world more. :)   💜💜💜💜💜 Big Pickle Percy Jackson and the Sword of Hades The Hidden Oracle The Dark Prophecy The Burning Maze The Lightning Thief Pixieland Diaries 💜💜💜💜 Red Hail Leo Valdez and the Quest for Buford One Wild Weekend with Connor 💜💜💜 Mountain and Ash 💜💜 Blood and Snow What was the favorite book you read last month? happy reading, anie Follow @anie_1027

End of Days by Susan Ee

End of Day is the last book in the Penryn and The End of Days series. The story picks up right after the World After. Raffe and Penryn are on the run. More time they spend together, harder is it to stay away.  The action is more intense, the is a lot more at stake than ever before, and the final battle is finally here. Angels have to pick sides, as well as Penryn. I loved it! The ending couldn’t be more perfect, it fit the story, it fits the characters, however, I desperately wished there was more, more of Raffe, more about their life after, something. :) It’s one of those books that are best to be read all at once, from first till the last one. :) rating💚💚💚💚💚 cover💛💛💛💛💛 series Penryn & the End of Days #3 genre ya, dystopia, paranormal, angels published May 12th, 2015 by Skyscape number of pages 344 Goodreads Amazon happy reading, anie Follow @anie_1027

Manga Classics: The Count of Monte Cristo

Image
I have a very hard time reading classics sometimes. The writing is usually very different from contemporary books, the language is different and it takes a lot of effort to read and like it.  And that's why I love reading Manga versions. While the storyline is basically the same as in the book, the manga version brings the story to life (and it's much shorter, more condensed story :)). The drawing are beautiful. Also reading the book from the backside to the front, it's an extra bonus. :) On the day, that should have been the happiest, his wedding, he is falsely imprisoned for life. After a few years, he manages to escape and reinvent himself as a Count of Monte Cristo and plot revenge on those who wronged him. I love a good revenge story and Edmund's character development. It made me want to read the original too. :) rating💚💚💚💚 cover💛💛💛💛💛 received from Netgalley genre classics, manga published April 1st, 2017 by Udon Entertainment

Mountain and Ash by Megan O'Russell

We follow Ena as she lives with Black Bloods & helps rescue gifted kids before guilds can take them.  My favorite thing about the story is the world created, especially the magic system. When you read it, it feels so very real.  Ena is a good character.  She is flawed and a bit rash at times, but also very loving and has a big heart. I admire her strength and ability to deal with all that is happening to her. While I liked the storyline, I felt it dragged on a bit at times. rating 💚💚💚 cover💛💛💛💛💛 received from the Author series Ena of Ilbrea #2 genre high-fantasy, magic published January 30th, 2020 by Ink Worlds Press number of pages 498 Goodreads Amazon happy reading, anie Follow @anie_1027

Big Pickle by JJ Knight

Image
Such a fun book!!! I could never imagine so many pickle puns. :) Jace's family owns a deli franchise. When his three sons when to college, he opened the deli in the city thew were in and when they finished, it was theirs to run.  When they are all gathered for the birth of a cousin, the father proposes a challenge. The one who can have the biggest profit at the end of the year will get the franchise. He never cared much about his deli, barely visiting it. He was sure the manager was running the place, but when he saw the numbers, he knew he had to do something about it. He walked into the deli and no one recognized him, so he introduced himself as a family friend, who will work there for free. It’s a good opportunity to see what is really going on and get acquainted with the work process. And makes some friends along the way. What he didn’t count on, was Nova. She basically runs the place, since the manager is on medical leave fo
