Get Lucky by Lila Monroe

Image
The first thought that comes to mind after reading Get Lucky is FUN. It's the perfect comedy/romance movie (or that episode of Friends where Ross and Rachel get married :) ), but so much better, because it's a book. :) Julia is a romance writer on the convention in Vegas & Nate is a cynical divorce attorney at a wedding. When they first meet the mutual dislike was very obvious, but somehow (with lots of alcohol involved) the wake up next morning in bed together with absolutely no memory of what happened. They spend the weekend searching for clues to what happened and getting to know each other. Even though they try to deny it - they were made for each other. Great book! :) rating 💚💚💚💚💚 cover 💛💛 series Lucky in Love #1 genre contemporary, romance, comedy published May 26th, 2016 number of pages 213 Goodreads Amazon happy reading, anie Follow @anie_1027

Angelfall by Susan Ee

Angelfall is the first book in one of my all-time favorite series. I love all three books & it’s a mush re-read at least once a year. 💗 Angels came to Earth, and the world ended. The cities were destroyed, people killed and those who remain, live like scavengers, some joining street gang, other trying to survive on their own. Six weeks after the world has ended Penryn, her disable little sister Paige and paranoid schizophrenic mom (who doesn’t have her med anymore) are moving to another place, in search of food and shelter. A little while after they start to move, angels land not far from them, in the middle of a vicious battle. There is one angel who fights multiple opponents until they overpower him and cut off his wings. When they are escaping they kidnap Paige, her mom runs off and she is left alone.  On a whim she decided to help fallen angel, he might know who took her sister. She bandages him, hides him and waits.  Turns out he doesn’t have many more answers then she

Private Messages by Connie Lafortune

There is nothing light and fluffy about this love story. It's intense, gripping & very good. She is a writer, barely living after the tragedy and he is coldhearted owned of the Club Syn. They are somehow thrown together and have an intense connection from the start. But getting from connection to lovers, it's not that straight forward.  I love the intensity of the story, there are no dull moments & I was very intrigued. I liked Lili a lot, she is very well developed character. However Zane is another story, I dislike him a lot, especially at the beginning of the novel. rating💚💚💚💚 cover💛💛 received from Silver Dagger Book Tours follow the tour  HERE genre romantic suspense published January 23rd, 2019 Goodreads Amazon   giveaway a Rafflecopter giveaway synopsis Lilianna For so long, my very existence teetered on the brink of death That's what happens when you lose the other piece of your heart I

The Waking of Ghosts by Lilliana Rose

I loved it! It's exactly the kind of story I love to read: all kinds of paranormal & magical school The Lost Academy, for all the rejects.  The Academy was founded in the lost library, for paranormal beings that don't fit in anywhere else. Now Zarya is the newest student, she was kicked out of her coven & is also a ghost hunter. All the characters are very interesting to read about. :) I love the plotline, I was glued to the pages from start to finish. And I can't wait to see what happens next. ra ti ng💚💚💚💚 cover 💛💛 💛 received from Silver Dagger Book Tours follow the tour  HERE   series Lost Souls Academy Book 1  genre ya, paranormal, fantasy number of pages 175 published January 23, 2020 Goodreads Amazon giveaway a Rafflecopter giveaway synopsis There is an evil awakening. series A Life Lessons Novel genre romance, contemporary published February 25th, 2020 by Wicked Dreams Publishing Goodreads Amazon giveaway a Rafflecopter giveaway synopsis From best-selling author Melanie A. Smith comes the first book in a new series of steamy contemporary medical romance standalone novels about life lessons that break all the rules. What’s the first rule of nurse’s club? That’s right: Never date a doctor. Which Sasha Suvorin has no intention of doing anyway, since she’s a nurse at Rutherford Hospital by day and working on her master’s degree by night. Who has time for dating, much less dating someone you work with? Bad idea much? That is, until the sexy British Dr. Caleb Thompson starts at her hospital. It also doesn’t help that he’s exactly her type with his dark hair, blue eyes, and rockin’ bod. Or that he’s not your typical arrogant and bossy surgeon. But Sasha isn’t so easily convinced, and she soon discovers Dr. Hottie has a

Favorites: Romance Books

Image
It's Valentine's day. the most romantic day of the year. 💗  On the day we celebrate love, I made a list of my favorite romances in books. There is a mixture of romance books and books where romance is just a part of the story. I love both kinds equally. 😀 Pride & Prejudice There is something about Mr. Darcy that makes me fall in love with him every time I re-read it. Angelbound Lincoln, Thrax Prince & Myla, quasi demon, fall in love against all odds at a very unsteady time in Purgatory    Angelfall Penryn, the daughter of man & Raffe the wrath of God form a shaky alliance. He will help her find her sister and she will give him his wings. Alliance turns to reluctant friendship, friendship grows into forbidden love. Slippers & Thieves She lives according to the Cinderella template, he is her prince. Only she is fae, thieves and on a run from her stepfamily.  Baby Girl The heartbreaking story of finding love again. Eve

Once in a Blue Moon by Amanda Ashby

There is something about this book. I couldn't put it down, it's such a sweet story and all I wanted is that Laney and Adam find the way back to each other... 💚 Laney and Adam meet when they were young and had a wind whirl romance. When Adam got a job across the country, she didn't go with him, and that was the end.  Adam wrote the book, heavily inspired by their relationship and it made him famous. She was mortified when she read it, she seen it as a betrayal and didn't like the way he portrayed her.  She lives in a small town with her dog and owns a flower shop. He comes to town on a book tour. She can't believe her eyes when she sees him again, all that anger comes forth. A few hours would have been manageable, but when she finds out he will move to the house next door for the next two months, it will be a lot harder to avoid him forever.  I loved the setting, the town of St. Claire does really seem magical, and all the characters make it so co

A Gathering of Shadows by V. E. Schwab

I adored the darker shade of magic, I was instantly in love with the world created and magical system and Kell and Lila and all the things ... I wanted to read the second one a Gathering Of Shadow but was a bit reluctant, what if it wasn't as good as the first one ? ... well, it wasn't - it was a lot better. :) Now that Lila is in Kell's London to stay, she is sailing on the ship with Alucard and making trouble. :) I loved reading about how she handled herself, how she learned about this whole new world and make it hers. She is one of my all-time favorite characters. So strong, yet vulnerable, strong & brave. On the other side, Kell and  Rhy are preparing for Elemetal games and still coming to terms with their bond. Then there is Holland. Not to give to much away but I loved the twists and all things Holland. :) I was glued to the pages from start to finish. It's such a unique story, with a very different style of storytelling and I'm all for it. :) Hi

This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab

Image
slow at the start, but ends with a bang I shouldn't be surprised that I loved it so much. So far, every book I’ve read by the author- I loved. It’s soo good. :) Long-time ago, something happened, the incident. And ever since then monsters came. In the city of Verity, where the story is set, there are two leaders. Harker governs the north part. He keeps the appearance of peace, in exchange for money. Keeping the monsters Malchai and Corsai somehow in check. In the south part, Flynn's part, there is no illusion. Evidence of broken city are everywhere and Flynn and his family work very hard to keep it save. His three “kids” are Sunai. The third type of monster that appeared. Sunai, Sunai, eyes like coal, Sing you a song and steal your soul. They can feed on the souls of bad people until they turn dark.  The story follows Kate and August. August is one of Sunai. He is sent to the school on the north side, to get close to Kate in case the truce gets broken. After

Darkest Hours by Mike Thorn

Image
Darkest Hours is a collection of short stories. The stories are all very different, from fantasy, sci-fi, to horror, but they have few things in common: they are all kind of dark, very original and each one pack one hell of a punch. The collection starts off strong with one of the creepiest stories I've ever read. From there on I was hooked. Each story that follows is better than the last, hits you in a different way and shakes you up all over again. I highly recommend the series to everyone who likes horror and creepie stories. :) rating 💚💚💚💚 cover💛💛💛💛💛 received from Author genre horror, short stories published November 21st, 2017 by Unnerving number of pages 252 Goodreads Amazon happy reading, anie Follow @anie_1027

The Pageant by Leigh Walker

Remember The Selection? Imagine taking that story (book #1), making it shorter, take out most of America's bad personality & put in vampires - the result The Peagent. :) I loved reading the book so much. It's so addicting. You just can't stop, once you start, it's un-put-down-able. :) Gwyneth lives in The settlements. It was taken over in The Great War by northerners. The Royal Family is very mysterious and source of many gossips. Now the Royals are organizing The Peagent. The picked girl from all over the Settlements. They will compete and the winner gets a proposal from prince Dallas, The Dark Prince. Gwyn just wants to survive the competition, but with each move, she makes, she bumps into the prince and more time she spends with him, the more she started to get to know him and like him. It's a thrilling story and I can't wait to read the next one. :)  rating 💚💚💚💚 cover 💛💛💛 series Vampire Royals #1 genre vampires, paranormal, fant

The Diseased Ones by Danielle Harrington

wow! This book is sooo good!!! It pulled me in from the very first page and I couldn't stop reading, until the end. The storyline is very interesting and the characters, the setting it all just jumps out. Hollis is trying very hard to be just like society wants her to be, not shoving emotions, being obedient, do it all perfectly. On her sixteenth birthday, she has to get tested, to see if she has bad blood if she is the diseased one. Despite odds being very, very low, she is tested positive. When they want to kill her, her power comes forth and saves her. She runs back home, but men with guns are right outside.  She almost dies, but a strange girl saves her at the very last moment. She is teleported to the undergrown facility filled with diseased ones. They are welcoming, trying to tell her the truth, to see what is really going on, but that is completely opposite of what she was thought is truth. She is faced with two very different sides, each with their own

The Flying Woman by Daniel Sherrier

I love superheroes in any shape and form, so I was very excited to read a book (books are usually better than movies 😀). Miranda is an actress, playing in her first play after college. One night, she took a walk to get some air and stumbled on a woman dying. She was reluctant to help her but eventually reached out. The woman disappeared and leaves something to her.  It's hard to figure out her powers at first, but she gets a hang of it. There was already a superhero in town, that is willing to help her. But she is not thrilled with his rules. It's only the start of the action-filled story. I loved reading it!  Miranda is a very fun character, she is vulnerable, but has a lot spunk. You just have to root for her. :) rating 💚💚💚💚 cover💛💛💛 received from Silver Dagger Book Tours follow the tour  HERE series Terrific Book 1  genre superhero, fantasy published October 10th, 2018 Goodreads Amazon giveaway a Rafflecop
