Rating: 💚 💚 💚 💚 Author: Megg Jensen Title: Anathema Series:  Cloud Prophet Trilogy #1 Published: February 2011 Genre: ya, paranormal, magic, high fantasy, fiction, romance Goodreads link:  Anathema I was pleasantly surprised by the story. It was really good.  We follow Reychel, a slave serving her master. She is not allowed to go outside or even to look through the window. She scrubs the dishes in the kitchen and has only one friend. Because master has taken interest in her, always asking her to come to his chambers, other kind of stay away from her. On the day of her branding she is given the chance to escape. But are not as simple as that or as what it seems. There is betrayal, magic, entire nation enslaved, resistance, prophecy- making of a great book.  It is really unique and interesting story. I loved the pace, stuff happen all the time. I was pulled in immediately and can't wait to see what happens next. Aldo I have to say the ending was a bit bitter sweet f

Rating: 💚 💚 💚 💚 Author: Parker Sinclair Title: Eve of the Exceptionals Series: standalone Published: January 2017 Number of pages: 226 Goodreads link:  Eve of the Exceptionals Genre: high fantasy, fiction, romance, magic Received from NetGalley. Such a beautiful book. The story is just so sweet and lovely. I really like that it is a standalone book.  It is high fantasy book about Gem who travels with her family and performs, and the also steal on the side. One night she steals mysterious Heath and is almost captured, only to be rescued by the prince Ryzyn. There are somehow connected since then, even though they don't see each other for many years.  After that night Gem runs away from her family and that lifestyle and becomes a guard. Ryzyn learns how to wield the hearth. But they have to join forces if they want to save the land from evil. The setting is really interesting world, full of magic. I really like the writing.  Stuff I did

Maas Title: Throne of Glass Series: Throne of Glass #1 Number of pages: 404 Published: August 2012 Genre: high-fantasy, fiction, ya, romance Goodreads link:  Throne of Glass I read it the second time yesterday and I have to say I like it a lot more than the first time. First time I have read it, it was not long after it came out and I was not a fan.  It is really interesting story. The writing is really good, the story pulls you in immediately. I really like the plot too. When you think, you have figured out the story, there is something more to it.  I wanted to be more bad-ass action, more assassin stuff, more kicking ass and a bit less other stuff. The book really picks up toward the end. If the first half was as full of action as the last, it would be 5 star book. Maybe it gets better in the second book. I might give that a try.  My favourite parts were all mentioning of the Fae. I also like the world, and want to know more about

Rating:  💚  💚  💚  💚  💚   Author: Vic Connor Title:  Ravenscroft Conspiracy: A Virtual Reality Thriller  Series: Territoria #1 Number of pages: 364 Published: March 2017 Genre: sci-fi, games, fiction Goodreads link:   Ravenscroft Conspiracy: A Virtual Reality Thriller Received from NetGalley Wow, I was so surprised by this book. It is so amazing. Once I started it, I could not stop.  It is story of Nicolay, who is wrongfully convicted of murdering his parents. Whilst on death row, he gets an offer to test a secret virtual world. But all is not as it seems Nicolay is genius, with IQ levels off the charts. He can come across crude and cold, but deep inside has a kind soul. His life was really hard. His character is really easy to relate to.  The book is really fast paced and full of action. You don't know what is really going on.  One of my favourites for sure. Only complaint- I wish it was longer. :) I would really love to read more about this place.  Hi

The Moorigad Dragon by Debra Kristi

Image
Rating: 💚 💚 💚 Author: Debra Kristi Title: The Moorigad Dragon Series: Age of the Hybrid #1 Number of pages: 136 Published: October 2014 Genre: fantasy, paranormal, fiction, romance, dragons It is a story of a girl, that can change into dragon. She is a mixed species dragon, mother is water dragon and father fire dragon. She runs away from home and ends of in magical carnival. I really like the world, that the story takes place in and the whole premise of the story. The page of stuff happening is also great, there is no dull moment. Only thing I had problems with, was the writing at times. It was so descriptive at times, I forgot what was even going on in the story, a bit to distracting. Nonetheless, interesting book. Happy reading! Anie

Pawn by Sophie Davis

Rating: 💚 💚 💚 Author: Sophie Davis Title: Pawn Series: Nightmares Trilogy Number of pages: 300 Published: April 2013 Genre: fantasy, fiction, paranormal, Greek mythology, ya It's story about Endora.  She is in high school and play lacrosse. On her 18 birthday she jumps off a cliff on a dare and almost drown, only to be saved by mysterious stranger. She feel immediate attraction towards him. But he has many secrets. After her birthday she start to dream, dreams that come through. Premise of the story is really interesting, I like the use of Greek mythology. I just couldn't connect with it. I didn't care for any of the characters. Even with the romance, just didn't feel the spark. It didn't grab me and pull me in the story. So I kind of just skimmed most of the book. Happy reading! Rating: 💚 💚 Author: Vanessa Garden Title: Captivate Series: Submerged Sun #1 Published: January 2014 Number of Pages: 300 Goodreads link:   Captivate Genre: fantasy, fiction, paranormal, romance, ya Let's start with good stuff. I really like the cover, it is gorgeous. And... I really like the premise of the story, the setting, description of it. Seriously great and really unique and I really enjoyed reading about it. So why only two stars ?  I didn't like the characters. I couldn't connect with anyone or root for anyone. Also I foolishly thought it would feature mermaids and was so disappointed.  Not bad book at all, just not for me. Happy reading! Anie

Carter Title: First year Series: The Black Mage #1 Published: August 2014 Number of Pages: 322 Genre: high-fantasy, magic, ya, fantasy, fiction Goodreads link:  First Year OMG this was so good. One of the best book about magic... EVER (beside Harry Potter of course 😃). This is a story of a girl Ryiah, who wants to become a combat mage, against all odds. So she and her twin brother join the academy, for a trial year. There she trains day and night, in order to catch with the rest off them. Especially highborn. Because of she was lowborn, she didn't have as much training available before. I love that her power isn't given, she has to work hard for it, for the very start. I absolutely love reading about training, her overcoming obstacles, getting better. Anything she gets, it is because of struggle, it is not just given. I really respect that.  She forms friendships, some more interesting than other. :) I r

Rating: 💚  💚  💚 Author: Joanne Wadsworth Title: Protector Series: Princess of Myth #1 Published: December 2012 Number of Pages: 292 Goodreads link:  Protector Genre: fantasy, fiction, urban fantasy, romance, paranormal, magic This was a easy, quick read. I did enjoy it, but I also had few problems with it. Story was really interesting, the premise at least, but I missed a bit more world building. I want to know more about the world described. Beacause it wasn't a whole lot of explaining, it was at times a bit hard to believe, especially the romance part. I do like to read about mean to be, destined love, however this was so quick, for zero to 100 in 2 seconds. I wanted to see more about both charachters, know them a bit more, before all of that. And because of that it was kind of hard to connect or cary about any of them. Especially Faith, she is really hard to like. I mean, she makes some stupid decisions and doesn't know what is she doing. I would really l

I didn't have high expectation of the story and somehow thought it is about pirates. 😏Anyway, once I started reading I could not put it down, I've read it in like 1,5 hour. It is sooo good. 😍 Book is just the perfect blend of magic, mystery, romance, friendship and family. Story follows Maggie, regular girl that is living in the boarding school full time (before she was with her grandparents, but the got too old to take care of her) and Joel, one of four Tomlins brothers. The are known witches and live with their father and one of their "aunts".  Maggie find out that she has a curse on her and she asks Joel to help her with it. He is r
