They have an instant connection, but the baggage they both will keep them apart unless they find a way to overcome it It's a page-turner! I couldn't stop reading from the start till the finish. The story is full of suffering and heartbreak and is told in a very real way. It shows the emotional wreckage such trauma can have on people, especially those who are so young, and the fallout that happens. But not all is so bleak, from a very dark place the Maya and Daniel grew hope as they connected.  The story deals with hard themes, like alcohol abuse, trauma, and survivor guilt, from the perspective of a person in the middle of it. I never read To All The Boys I Loved Before, I must have missed the hype, but one thing is for sure, this author can write. Each sentence flows into another perfectly, the story becomes alive before your eyes and pretty soon you cannot help but fall in love with all of the characters, no matter how flawed they are, and root for the happy ending, that is ever elusive.  I was swayed by the pretty cover and sucked in by the story.
