Well Met by Jen Deluca (Well Met #1)

Emily came to the small town to help her sister who was in a car accident and her daughter.

It gave her time to recover from a bad breakup. She gave up college and worked full time to support her bf, while he finished up law school. Now that it was supposed to be her turn, he dumped her.

Her self-confidence is broken and she is happy to be somewhere to lick her wound. It's also nice to get close to her sister and niece. Because they have quite an age gap they never really got that close.

There is a Renaissance fair in town, called Faire, which is a town tradition and kind of big deal. Her niece wants to sign up but needs an adult volunteer, so Emily gets roped into doing it.

There is a hot pirate she flirts with, but the guy wearing the costume and she doesn't get along all that well. They seem to start out on the wrong foot and always argue, but when they get in a costume, there is none of that and a whole lot of flirting going on.

They started out as enemies but ended up as lovers. There is drama, small-town dynamics, family issues, and new friends for Emily who is slowly settling in the town.

It's a lovely story, with the background of a Renaissance fair, that adds another dimension.

I loved the story, until about the last third of it, when it just lost its spark for me.
