Only Ryn has the power to stop the coming apocalypse. But there's a demon in Eagle Valley who wants that power for himself—and if Ryn wants to survive, she'll have to fight back.

Review

I really enjoyed reading Chosen by Grace. Story in on the lighter side, so it was perfect book to read after major slump I've been in.  Ryn and her mom don't have the best relationship. The are constantly moving from town to town. Ryn has always been able to see demons, but was convinced it's just in her head.

Moving to Eagle Valley will change her life for ever. One night at the party, she gets attacked by one of the demons. She discovers she has powers and that there are other people like her.

Even though road to discovery wasn't smooth, she found a place to belong.

I love the magical structure and the mythology created, it very refreshing new take on angels/demons and I love reading about it. I wish there was more written about it, maybe in the next one. :)

It's very well written and fast paced, I've read it in one sitting and loved every page. :)

Happy reading,

Sometimes, I love going into book not knowing anything about it. I started reading Proof of Lies just because I loved the cover, I didn't even know the genre. By the second chapter I was hooked. Couldn't stop reading and I had to know how it will end.

Proof of Lies had all the elements of classic spy novel. We follow Anastasia Phoenix. Her parents were chemical engineer for a big company and her family often moved from country to country, based on their work. She and her sister were never in one place for long. When her parents tell her, they will be moving again, she gets very mad. That night they die and she stayed alone with her sister.

Sister takes care of her the best she can. It's three years later and after party thrown by her sister, Anastasia goes out for a little. When she comes back she finds her sister missing and bathroom full of blood.

Everyone things her sister is dead, but she refuses to believe it. On the path to find her sister she discovers that there was a lot she didn't know, secrets slowly revealing.

The book kept me on the edge of the seat till the end... and the ending... I need next one. :) There is still a lot of unanswered questions.

Proof of Lies would be an amazing movie. :)

In this, the fifth instalment of the Kilenya Series, Jacob Clark masters his last magical ability to harness energy from the sun, which leads him to the location of the Key of Ayunli. Unfortunately, the Lorkon learn where it is, too, and they race to see who will get to it first. But complications rise as Jacob and his friends are tasked to release Lasia, the Fire Pulser, while Azuriah declares that they must rid the land of Gevkan from Lirone, the sky-dwelling monster.

With so many important and dangerous tasks, Jacob is forced to increase the boundaries of his Shiengol abilities before the Lorkon army arrives. He feels the possibility of failure mounting, knowing that without him, those he loves will suffer or even die. Can he buy more time, or will he be forced to face Keitus and the other Lorkon before he’s ready?

Review

There is something about the way these books are written, you just can't stop reading. There is non stop action, no time to breath. This is my favourite in the series so far.

Lorkon are preparing to attack and Jacob has no time to rest. He has to find the Key of Ayunli. In order to be able to do that, he has to master power of the sun. My favourite part was, when all Shiengols have to gather to get rid of Lirone, of course nothing is straight forward. :) There is a lot of twists and turns. It's just consistently good series and I can't wait to see how it will all end. :)

I LOVE this book. It's one of THE best Sci-fi book I've read... like EVER.

I mean, it has everything, humans living in space, cool technology, school on a space stations, and a lot of amazing stuff (that would be to spoilery to say) :)

Because of extreme weather people had to find other places to live, not knowing if Earth climate will ever stabilize, so they populated the Moon and Mars. People even life in space stations. Star Academy is the school for only the best and it is extremely exclusive, you can only get in by invitation, and it's in space station. How cool is that ? :)

Yalena doesn't care about space that much so she is very surprised upon receiving the invitation. It's too good to turn it down. In school she slowly learns about space and living on space station, she makes friends and stumbles on huge mystery, that has to be solved. But the solution may not be something anyone expected.

I love reading the story, I was hooked from the very start and couldn't put in down till the end. And the ending, there is a lot unsolved, so second book is a must. :)

It has traits of classic sci-fi book, that I love: interesting plot, multiple characters, interesting science,  I especially love the drones aspect of it, it has a very realistic vibe to it.

Even though I love science, there is a lot of info dump, that takes over the story a lot of times. A lot of very detailed description (sometimes unnecessary). All of that was getting in a way of plot, that was really interesting.

Even I enjoyed reading it, it just wan't the right book for me.

It's been a while since I actually kept up with series, and Koven Chronicles are one of those books, that you have to keep on reading and find out what happens next.

I love Lizzy in this one, she is extremely cool, the way she fights on and uses her magic. Especially stopping guns. It so fun to read about she gets more bad-ass with each book.

The story pick up, right where the second one left of and we are trusted into action right away. The story line if full of unexpected twist and turns. She reminded little bit of Indiana Jones (if he could stop guns from firing :))

Lizzy, with help from Abel, has to find a way to fix Shadow Amulet, before its too late, but the path leading up to that, it's all but straightforward.

It's very fast read, I just flew through the story.

I love the action and Lizzy. I still wish for more depth, but I love the characters a lot more in this one. My favourite in the series. :)

Synopsis

After spending her life in foster care, Ava has finally found home. But all it takes is a chance encounter with hot nerd Wyatt Wilcox for it to unravel.

Now, things are starting to change. First, the flashes of memories slowly creeping in. Memories of other lives, lives that Wyatt is somehow in. Then, the healing. Any cut? Gone.

But when Cade and Nick show up, claiming to be her brothers, things get even weirder. They tell her she’s a Phoenix, sent to protect the world from monsters—monsters she never knew existed. It’s a little hard to accept. Especially when they tell her she has to end the life of a Phoenix turned rogue, or Cade will die.

With Wyatt’s increasingly suspicious behavior, Ava’s determined to figure out what he’s hiding. Unless she can discover Wyatt’s secret in time and complete her Phoenix training, she’ll lose the life, love, and family she never thought she could have.

Excerpt

He shrugged. “I should have expected Danny to warn you about me.”
“It’s not like you made a habit out of beating people up, right?” I offered a smile.
The way his gaze locked onto mine, suddenly easier to read though the moonlight was blocked by branches here, made me think he might be staring deep into a memory, too.
“Wyatt?”
He sucked in a breath. “Right. I don’t go around hurting people.”
“No. You let them pick on you.” I released his hands.
His small laugh seemed to drip bitterness. “Well, I can’t exactly fight back—I’d be in so much trouble if I were to have another…incident—and they know it.”
That ignited a fireball in my stomach. That’s why they picked on him? “How can people be so cruel?” I pointed my flashlight on the path ahead. “Can I show you something?”
“Of course.”
Within a few minutes, we’d arrived to my favorite place on the run. I stepped through the thinning dune grass and out onto a sandy cliff of the top of a dune. From here we could see over Lake Michigan. But the sun had already set, leaving nothing but darkness in front of us. Here, at night, the best view was looking up.
I sat down and motioned to the stars. “I looked up Andromeda after you came over.”
“Yeah?” His voice carried the hint of awe and surprise mingled together.
“But I don’t know which constellation it is.”
He sat beside me and leaned close enough that his shoulder brushed against mine. “There.” His fingers traced an outline of stars. “It’s been said that she’s a beautiful princess.”
“I read that, too.” I chuckled. “But like all princesses, she got into trouble.”
He laughed. “Yes. She got herself captured.”
I made my voice mock-dreamy. “But her handsome prince—what was his name? Perseus!—saved her. I can only imagine they lived happily ever after.”
He didn’t respond, so I tore my eyes away from the night sky and found Wyatt already looking at me.
“Thank you,” he said, turning his attention back to the sky as a breeze off the lake muffled his quiet words. “For not making me feel like a monster for what I did.”
I wanted to touch him again, but I refrained. “You’re hardly a monster, Wyatt.”

Something in his soft smile made my heart beat faster.

Review

I love the idea behind the story, it very intriguing and I was hooked after reading the synopsis. I really liked Ava, I liked to slowly discovery what is going on with her and too see the way she sees the world.

The pacing  and the flow is good, though I have to say I was confused at times.

It has it faults, but the story still pulled me in and kept me glued to the pages. I can't wait to read the next one. :)

The world created in Liornabella in amazing. The author created diverse world, with very rich history, we are slowly discovering with lead character. The land is divided in four parts, there are universities in each land in former castles.  Elle was excepted to university, even though she is not noble or rich. She discovers, through old journals, that there is a lot more history to be discovered and it might be connected to her somehow. It's intriguing story set in world you want to live in.

I love the first part of the story, it pulled me in right away, because of slight Harry Potter vibe. The second part I struggled with, the pace slowed down a bit and became more dense, so it was harder to relate to characters. I loved side characters Elan and Naomi very much in first half, but the more the story went on, the less I cared for them. Last few chapter were back to amazingness, though. :)

I love the friendship and comradery between her and Naomi, it's nice to read about strong female friendship. The romance on the other hand I wasn't a biggest fan off. I didn't feel the chemistry between them.

There is a lot more to discover in this world, so I can't wait to read the next one. :)

Review

Promise Me Always is love story of Gabrielle and Danny. It's told from two perspective (Gabrielle's and Danny's) and in two different times, present and six years ago. In story line set six years ago, we see how they meet and fall in love, it goes from good to bad, when they part ways in horrible way. In the present time it's exact opposite, they meet again, under very different circumstances and slowly grew close again (it goes from bad to amazing, with few unexpected twists in the way).

I really like the way the story was told, I loved the characters, with all their faults. It's one of those book that pulls you in immediately and you can't stop reading, till the end. Ultimately, it's about true love, but the path to happiness is not light. Both have very hard lives and have to overcome many obstacles, to end up together.

I loved reading it!
