Brad has just one wish this Christmas: to find a real home. Having lost his parents before joining the Marines, he misses that sense of belonging and family. When he meets an introverted flight attendant on his journey to start his civilian life, he wonders if this might be his chance.

After a messy divorce, Shelly has decided the only person allowed within the brittle walls of her broken heart is her daughter, Lilly. At least, until she meets a friendly man who hails from her hometown while working a routine flight. When she learns he needs a place to stay, she offers the apartment over her garage out of the kindness of her heart – and her desperate need for extra cash.

Even as Brad endears himself to Shelly by saving the town's Christmas pageant, she attempts to keep her distance to protect the fragile stability she's built since her divorce. But Brad's willingness to walk the fine line between what Shelly's heart wants and what her head allows slowly wears down her resolve. And when Brad receives a job offer near the only family he has left, Shelly must decide whether she's willing to risk her heart again before he leaves her home, and her life, for good.

Shelly works as a flight attendant. It's not her dream job, but it pays the bills. But extended stays away aren't ideal since it's just two of them. She and her husband got divorced and he hasn't been in contact ever since.

Brad has retired from the Marines. He starts a new job after the New Year and has a few weeks to sort out his life and adjust to being a civilian. 

They bump into each other in the plane and the connection is instant. She offers him to stay with them in the apartment above the garage that she rents out, and he agrees. Spending all that time together, making new memories in the small town, brings them close, (with a little help from the matchmaking friends and family:) ) but old wounds don't heal so fast.

It's the sweetest Christmas romance, just oozing the Christmas spirit. It's on the short side, so it's a fast read. And it's very well written, I couldn't put it down!  Even though the romance is very fast to come, it somehow works. There is also a cat, which makes any book all that better. :)

Debut author, Katie Eagan Schenck, writes sweet romance that warms the heart and gives all the feels. When she's not writing fiction, she's either working on regulations for the federal government or binging Hallmark movies. She lives in Maryland with her husband, daughter, and their three cats.

Freya just lost her business, her car broke down and is being evicted. As her life crumbles around her, she realises nothing is holding her at Blossomwood.  So she goes to the French countryside. Her estranged uncle died a year ago and his house which should have already been sold is still on the market. The real estate agent that should be the best is no help. With her parents always on the road, she takes it upon herself to clean up the place and sees to the sale.  As she explores the town, she meets all of the wonderful people living there and falls in love with the town and the town mechanic. It's a lovely story, so full of French vibes that it makes you want to move to Provence. There is romance, but the best part was the growth that Freya went through and the small-town vibes.
