Lady Eville has adopted 7 daughters and raised them as her own. She was burned by the kingdom and now it's time to slowly wield her revenge. First is Rosalie, her eldest daughter and the most powerful of the bunch.
After they find out that the Crown Prince of Baist is engaged to be married, Lady Eville takes her to the kingdom and somehow forces the king for the Prince to marry Rosalie instead.
The wedding is not a happy one and Prince, full of prejudice against magic and witches, makes his feeling clear from the start. This will never be a real marriage and he wished never to see her face. Hidden in her own rooms, forced to wear a veil doesn't sit well with Rosalie.
She uses a disguise to get around the castle and bump into the prince. She pretends to be her own servant.
There is a beast killing people and the prince is desperate to find it and kill it once and for all. Rosalie joins the expedition, but once they find the beast, it all goes horribly wrong.
It's a loose Beauty and the Beast retelling. I was sucked in from the start and loved every page. Now I can't wait to read the next one.
happy reading,anie
