Books that make me want to pack up my bags and move...

To renovate a villa on an Italian coast *sigh*

Do you ever feel, like you want to pack up your life, book a flight somewhere and leave on an adventure?

I do. Sometimes. Especially when daily life gets overwhelming. Surely there isn't as much laundry if you live by the sea, and it's probably a lot easier to pick up the house if you have a view of the beach in the background and listen to the roar of the waves on the daily walk...

I've been a little bit obsessed with romance books lately and there have been few books that made me feel that way. Can you tell I desperately need a vacation? :)

The Edge of Summer by Erica George

It's a beautiful, but also a heartbreaking story, of a girl who made all the wrong choices and lost her best friend because of it. Not that the friend is gone she has to live with that. She applies for an internship at Cape Cop. Saving whales was always their dream, but now she does it for both of them, looking to feel close to her somehow, someway.

There is a sweet romance, dealing with grief and guilt, but there is also the beautiful setting of Cape Cod. With the sea, beautiful beaches and whales.

I could just imagine walking by the sea, seeing beautiful animals and breathing the ocean air...

highly recommend it :)

It Takes a Villa by Kilby Blades

This was the book that inspired this whole thing. I did even like the story all that much, but the setting, OMG.

Natalie bought a Villa on the Italian coast for 1 dollar and is eager to renovate it and turn it into a hotel. The reno itself prove to be a lot bigger job than she anticipated and she will need all the help she can get.

The idea of moving across the world and doing something that is so out of your comfort zone, there is something very intriguing about it. :) It stuck with me ever since I read it and keep thinking about how it would go if I did something like that. :)

The Italian Job by Kathryn Freeman

She lost everything and is eager for a change. Why not find a dream job? And she does, managing a castle on the shores of Lake Como, the only bad thing is she needs a husband for it. :) Her neighbour spend had bad few years and is looking for a change. When Anna asks him to move to Italy with her, he is right on board. It doesn't take long for a fake to start to feel very real.

I could just imagine, how magical it must be to live in a castle, to explore hidden chambers and hallways, find secret passageways and discover the history of the place. I don't think I would ever want to leave...

happy reading,

anie
