Hyacinth is one of a kind. Extremely smart plays by her own rules and doesn't hold back. Ever. Every week she read with Lady Danbury, voluntarily, and likes it. :) At the annual Smythe-Smith concert, she meets Gareth, lady Danbury's nephew. 

Gareth didn't have the easiest time growing up. His father is plain awful. The horror that he bestowed on his brother and still in his mind and when he left home, Lady Danbury took him in. His father is determined to ruin the estate before it comes to his hands, but then he finds a diary of his grandma. The only problem, it's written in Italian. He needs a translation and Hyacinth offers to do it. She knows a bit of Italian and has a thing for mysteries. :)

It's such a romantic story and quite different from others in the series. I loved it!
