Secret Shadows by Alexa Whitewolf

 review

I very, very rarely read books that have some kind of greek mythology in, because honestly, if it's not Percy Jackson's world, I don't want to be in it. :)

I very, very much dislike the mixing of mythologies, it just hurts my head.

There seem to be exceptions to my self-imposed rules - anything that Alexa Whitewolf writes. :)

In the Secret Shadows, we follow Hades, God with a secret ability, who spent the last few hundredth years drunk. He is drowning the thoughts and not just his, not noticing what is going around him.

Then he gets attacked when on Earth by Fenrir and that sparks a whole lot of change in the godly world, starting with getting new immortal guards, and meeting Persephone. Much like him, she is kind of an outcast. She spends her time on Earth where she is not made fun of and actually appreciated. He is immediately captivated by her, but she takes some time to come round. Apparently, he is part of the reason she rather spends her time on Earth. :)

It's a captivating romantic story, of the underdog -Hades, finding his way and thriving. Such a beautiful story, that I just inhaled. The writing is addicting and I love the world created. The mythology, it somehow works and it all fits together. :)

Can't wait to see what comes next. :)

Highly recommend it!
