An Uneasy Alliance by Kyra Radcliff

review
Katherine is the mayor of a small town, but when her brother ends up in jail in a big city, she rushes in to help him. Her brother claims he is innocent and that the brother of his girlfriend framed him, so he could force him to stay away from her.

That doesn't sit well with her, so she goes to him and bargains for him to release her brother. They reach a deal, if she works as a secretary for him for a month, Tate will drop the charges.

She agrees, she feels like she has no choice.

The more time they spend together, the more feelings are born. And later the roles are reversed.

Force proximity is one of my favorite tropes, so I was excited to read it. I like the idea behind the story, but I ended up not loving it. The reason for that was Tate, I hated him from the start, his attitude, his ego, the way he talked to her, I just wanted to kick his ass. :)
