Mountain and Ash by Megan O'Russell

We follow Ena as she lives with Black Bloods & helps rescue gifted kids before guilds can take them.

My favorite thing about the story is the world created, especially the magic system. When you read it, it feels so very real.

Ena is a good character.  She is flawed and a bit rash at times, but also very loving and has a big heart. I admire her strength and ability to deal with all that is happening to her.

While I liked the storyline, I felt it dragged on a bit at times.
