The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

The Cruel Prince was on my TBR since it's release. I'm so very happy I read it because it has turned out to be one of my favorites.

It's so addicting to read, I couldn't put the book down. And when I had to get away, because life..., I was a pain in the ass until I could go back. :)

It reminded me a bit of a Poison Study (another favorite :)) not by plotline, but by the level of deceit and spying and political intrigue.

Jade and  Taryn, her twin, their older sister Vivi and their parents lived somewhat peacefully until the day that the strange man came and killed the parents in front of kids. He tuned out to be Vivi's real father and took them all to live with him. Vivi remember vividly what happened and resents her father, acting out whenever she can. For Jade and Taryn, it's the only home they know and don't want to leave. Taryn wants to please the royals and is willing to submit their every whim. She is hoping to fall in love and get married. For Jade love is the last thing she thinks about. She is very good with sword and wants to be a knight. When the future king offers her to spy for him, she jumps at the chance to prove herself. t Only nothing is as it seems and everyone has a secret agenda. She will have to find her own way to win it all.

The storyline is so intense, you don't' know who is bad and who is good, there is a lot of politics, deceitfulness, scheming and thrills.

It was a thirling ride from start to finish. :)

Highly recommend it!!
