NASA discovered alien ship in the asteroid belt, long time ago. They kept close eye on it, not telling the public. Not there is asteroid in its trajectory and technology has advanced to the level, that they can send people to it. One of the people they want on the emission is Jane
Halloway. She is linguist with special talent for learning new languages very quickly.

When they arrive the ship is empty and quiet, there is no one there, or so it seems. Soon Jane starts to communicate, telepathically. There is doubt amongst her crew member, whether she is really communicating and if the entity has good intention.

The story line is very interesting, full of twists and turns, nothing is as simple as it seems and there is a lot more at stake, than any of them could imagine. I loved first half of the book, its the kind of sci-fi I love, but last part wasn't as cohesive as the first. part of the story didn't make sense, or were hard to follow. Last two chapters were back to awesomeness. :)

Sci-fi is one of my favourite genres and I especially love reading books set in space. Fluency wasn't perfect fit for me, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. What make the book good, except from sci-fi, were the characters, especially Jane.

Happy reading,
