This book is SOO good. OMG, I read in one sitting and couldn't stop. The writing is amazing, it's dark and captivating. The story just pull you in.

Rain Ryland lives on streets with his mother. He is left to fend for himself, but still decides to go to school. He doesn't belong anywhere. When his mother dies, he moves to live with his aunt in New Wurzburg (he never knew he had any family). For the first time he feels hopeful. Especially when he meets Friederike. She is strong and cool. There is something more about her, though. :)

All is not great, the town is  and there is a lot more going on. There are shapeshifters and magic and conspiracies and power struggles.... just AMAZING. :)

The characters are interesting, I love that there is depth, especially to Freddie and Rain. Rain has a past, a bit dark, there's edge to him. He doesn't shy away when things get difficult and he is prepared to make sacrifices.

The characters are really fleshed out, they jump out of the page. And the ending... is perfect. 💚

Highly recommend it!

Happy reading,

Anie
