I was pleasantly surprised by the story. It was really good.
We follow Reychel, a slave serving her master. She is not allowed to go outside or even to look through the window. She scrubs the dishes in the kitchen and has only one friend. Because master has taken interest in her, always asking her to come to his chambers, other kind of stay away from her. On the day of her branding she is given the chance to escape. But are not as simple as that or as what it seems. There is betrayal, magic, entire nation enslaved, resistance, prophecy- making of a great book.
It is really unique and interesting story. I loved the pace, stuff happen all the time. I was pulled in immediately and can't wait to see what happens next. Aldo I have to say the ending was a bit bitter sweet for me. I hope that the second book doesn't have triangle in it...
Highly recommend to anyone who loves high-fantasy magic books :)
Happy reading!
