 Let's start with good stuff. I really like the cover, it is gorgeous. And... I really like the premise of the story, the setting, description of it. Seriously great and really unique and I really enjoyed reading about it. So why only two stars ? 

 I didn't like the characters. I couldn't connect with anyone or root for anyone. Also I foolishly thought it would feature mermaids and was so disappointed. 

 Not bad book at all, just not for me.
