OMG this was so good. One of the best book about magic... EVER (beside Harry Potter of course πŸ˜ƒ).

This is a story of a girl Ryiah, who wants to become a combat mage, against all odds. So she and her twin brother join the academy, for a trial year. There she trains day and night, in order to catch with the rest off them. Especially highborn. Because of she was lowborn, she didn't have as much training available before.

I love that her power isn't given, she has to work hard for it, for the very start. I absolutely love reading about training, her overcoming obstacles, getting better. Anything she gets, it is because of struggle, it is not just given. I really respect that.

She forms friendships, some more interesting than other. :)

I really like the plot and the execution. I was hooked from the first page. It is just pulls you in, you have to know what happens next.

One of the best books I have read this year so far. I really look forward to read the next one in the series. It is the perfect blend of struggle, magic, love, family, friendship, academy life and more MAGICπŸ˜ƒ. Just really, really, really good.

Highly recommend it!

Happy reading!
